Are RO systems usually so slow

Just fitted a basic RO system are they usually painfully slow at generating water? over an hour in and I have maybe 5 litres.

It’s normal. My system takes about 2.5 hours to regen 3 gallons. I have 10 one gallon water jugs that I keep filled at all times.

R/O is dependent on the input pressure (if it’s too low then slow exchange) and water temp. Ideal is 78F which obviously isn’t ideal for tap water.

Thank you, I guess I need some additional water storage in that case

I checked my pressure and I’m getting 65 psi which is stated as better than required for this system, I’ll add a shut off valve eventually as the drain seems to run continuously too

The ‘drain’ HAS to run continuously to produce water. The machine uses 3 gallons for every gallon produced.

Your water temp is probably low.

Three 5 gal water jugs keep me going

Having a bathroom next to where you grow helps a lot,
Buddys still going good after a year

The RO membranes are typically 50 gallon or 100 gallon per day. This also can effect volume.
