A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks
“I think this site and support is awesome especially for new Growers like myself I have 6 plants growing outside in pots in soil I have two kushage, a Cinderella 99, a grape Escape, a sweet tooth and a Bubba Kush. I have been doing a lot of research reading and watching a videos to try and get the best techniques for what I’m doing but I just have a few questions still. First of all, are these strains good for outdoors? Secondly, I get sun on my back porch from about 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then it gets shady from a tree but they get spurts of light until the sun goes down. From what I’ve read this seems to be sufficient light what are your opinions. I am using A B Dutch nutes. I have attached some pictures so you could see how they look and you can give me your opinion as well.”
Not knowing your climate it’s hard to give you a good answer. Typically though, outdoor growing is generally more difficult because you don’t have control over all parameters. It sounds like you have enough sun, the plants look good, just watch that you don’t get close to a 12 hour day before you’re ready.
Plants are looking good.
Generally most plants will do well outside as long as you have sufficient sunlight to sustain the grow.
By the sounds of Into you have ample sunlight from 8am -3pm. 8 hours of direct sunlight should be sufficient. I am still new to outdoor growing but from what I’ve been told morning sun is better than afternoon sun so it would seem you have your plants set up perfectly.
Have you tried any fimming or topping to any of your plants? A few of the first pics are pretty tall and you could top or fim them to help get them bushier and increase your yield.
Yes I have fimed them all actually at the top and I have noticed the bottoms starting to grow better I’ve tied the lower branches down as well and they are growing out and up towards the Sun… I actually took one and bent it over and pulled all the branches out into a star shape I think it’s called Monster cropping and then I fimmed all five tops just as an experiment to see how it works for my next time
