Hi all,
This is my third harvest and first one using gove bags. My inexperience is showing a bit as I think I pulled the trigger a lil fast.
I have three plants that have been drying for 7 days. Every couple of days I would check the moisture content with my meter. It seemed to average around 15-20% until yesterday morning when I checked. Jabbing the probes into the buds I was reading about 8-9% !!! And the buds felt really dry when I handled them. These were the biggest buds and about 1-1/2" diameter.
What was curious is the top buds which when hung upside down where the lowest. And the driest. Going farther up they where noticeably more moist. I panicked a lil and played hooky from work to tend to them.
Spent four hours doing the final trim and realized those big buds where just dry on the outside and still very wet inside. I decided to sweat them in brown paper lunch bags and about 12 hrs checked them and they all feel consistent now. I will probably be putting in the grove bags when I get home from work.
Question, the probes on my meter are really short like maybe 3/8" long and don’t penetrate very deep. What is the best technique to use to gauge moisture content?
I appreciate you input.
