Anybody Grown Any Tangie Autos?

So I’ve just had 5 Tangie Autos to not sprout at all. About to get 5 more as replacements and would really like to try the strain but won’t be able to if these don’t pop either. I personally think it’s the strain and not anything I’m doing wrong. I’ve had 2 what we’d call successful grows of 14/15 seeds. Still midways through those 15, but all but 1 did pop. These 5 not popping has my confidence down and I do not want more if the same but that’s the guarantee so I gotta take them. If any if you has grown this strain please pipe in as to what germination procedure you used and I’ll do it. I tried ‘soaking then to dirt’ and ‘soaking and scuffing and soaking and into dirt’. 0% success. I sure hope somebody can provide me with a solution.

I had some black sugar that I could not get to sprout and and grow any other way the straight into damp soil and wait a week :man_shrugging:
I grew on coco-coir mostly and after tying glass of water, paper towels, rockwool cubes, and peat pods and 12 seeds later, I had 1 sprout it a peat pod and that was it  1 out of 12.
Since then I’ve grew 2 planting straight into soil and they grew slow but good.

Does not make much sense but that my experience with multiple duds in one pack.

Yes, @1HappyPappy , it makes sense. I just don’t have a bunch of seeds to throw away, you know. It’s like this is it. All my seeds are in two baskets and if both fail, I’m done. If I can ever get anything out of these Photos I got going then I’ll still be in the game. But you already know what I been through with these. I’m thinking maybe go all out and chemically scar them and then scuff them too, and maybe even cut their nubbins off while I’m at it. All in one fell swoop. Lol! What do you think?

Sucks when seeds don’t pop. But 5 out of5 not popping isn’t good. I’ve experienced seeds not popping in each grow I’ve had except one. Makes me think the seed banks maybe rushing the process for $. It’s easy for them to just replace them. But like everything I expect quality when I spend my hard earned money and my time, I expect results. Sad it doesn’t happen in our world of companies. At least some stand behind their products Hydrobuilder inc. does not.

Ihy @John7 . I got these right here at ilgm. They will replace them, but with 2 of 15 from their juicy mixpack also not popping and I claimed on those, I feel like I may appear to be dishonest, and I’m just not. And I hate that I always feel guilty whether I’ve done anything or not. Thanks Mother! Lol! This does blow gigantic chunks. Today is 3 or 4 days since I put them into soil and still nothing. :person_shrugging::person_shrugging: I wonder how many that get their seeds here have issues? Be nice if we could ask.

ILGM stands behind there product for sure. I no we can get bad seeds but I’m willing to bet the total percentage of duds is minimal compared to what ILGM sells. Can’t answer for the other seed banks. I get that dishonest feeling. I’ve had it as well but ILGM never questions a person’s honesty. They listen and stand behind their guarantee. Now Wally World is a different bear. They will trust you to check yourself out then want to inspect you as you leave. I’m expecting them to start asking us to unload trucks and stock shelves any day

Lol! Ihy on the Wally World. I try to avoid it. I know they stand behind them, but it does say that sometimes they want you to send back the seeds and dude told me that’s for people who have a lot that don’t pop. Then here I sit with 5/5 duds. See what I mean,? Gee whizzers I hate it.

Kinda hard to send seeds back. I have never looked for them to see what shape their in after germination attempt failed and I give it additional time in soil to wake up. Interesting, I guess it doesn’t degrade, maybe? I have other seeds from a different supplier that a friend gave me but haven’t tried them. (Jack Herer) going to be a mixture grow next time. Jack, white widow, OGkush and Durban poison. Hope it goes well I can’t wait to pop them beans. I haven’t ever grown any of those strains.

Yeah, I looked for 2 of the 5 and it was like they were just gone.

So I have 2 going right now ,and they are the only 2 I tried sprouting
I used a single sheet of paper towel
Ran it under warm water ,rang it out
Put the seeds in it about an inch apart and folded the towel
Put it in a ziploc and laid it right on my cable box for 2 days

They are doing great and I have them in 5 gallon fabric pots on AC infinity self watering bases

And I think just this morning they began using the bases or accessing the area of soil that is wet from it
Still have 8 more beans ,so ,so far for me 2 for 2

I also want to say do NOT question yourself
Some seeds are just duds
I’ve been growing for a while now and recently had lost 4 in a row
I just keep on keeping on

The one on the top in this pic also lost its way on the way up so I had to dig it out and straighten it out and it came up in the shell and I even had to carefully remove it so it’s leaves could open
In my opinion strong plants if you get them going

Ihy. Thanks. I fid finally get 4 of 4 to sprout and then break soil. Didn’t think they were going to though. I nicked each and then did the peroxide soak. They just barely popped about 3 hrs apart and the 1st one was maybe 22hrs in. I think now they’ve made it through the topsoil they will be ok.
Thanks for the vite of confidence. Now let’s both hope that end product is as good as the description implies. Lol!

Yes yes …are you keeping a journal ? If so tag me if not update your progress here !
Tangie is a favorite of mine and my family too actually ,
One of the ones I lost recently was a fast buds version and it was the only one I had ,
Another growmie on here that goes by @Twelve1 was kind enough to send me the ones I used here .
Some seeds just won’t sprout so I never blame myself as 90 percent of mine sprout using the method above

Sometimes in the outdoor season I’ll just drop a seed right into its forever home and water it and let it germinate that way and usually within a week it’s above ground !!

Here’s to some nice tangie plants !!

Ihy. I’d like to have a forum friend like that. Lol! O don’t really get the whole journal thing. I guess I need to read a few and see what all people put in them. Plus, I have yet to have a trouble free grow. Although, except for those seeds not germing I’ve brought them all back to good. So there’s that. Good luck with this new one and any more you have going. :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

@Lacewing Hey Chick, what size pot would you recommend? I’m guessing a 5gal bag won’t be big enough? With my clones actually cloning I am running out of dirt and the Tangies will be ready to go into a larger home before I get paid again.

I grow all my autos indoors in 5 gallon fabric pots
There are others that grow autos in 1 and 3 gallon too and they come out great
