Feminized Girl Scout Cookies Extreme feminized flowered and now at day 75 there are barely any indication of amber. Should I pull and harvest?
Pictures of the whole plant and one cola in white light would help.
Welcome
Welcome aboard.
It takes 8 to 10 weeks to flower from the 1st sign of pistils (white hairs)
Pics would help
Thank you much for helping. I’m a very old man with very limited movement. I will try to take a good picture. And include it with my next question.
The pistals are all brown, and the trichomes are translucent with 50% milky, and approximately 1% of light color amber. Its been like this for 2 weeks. I smoked some of it and it seemed pretty strong. I have smoked over 65 years daily so it takes a lot to get me high. Home grown is the best. I use organic methods “Roots” nutrients (tea) a little fish emulsion at being of grow. The colas are very big and so are some of the fox tails. Still very good smoke. I want at least half of the plants coated with amber. It’s better for pain. The old man disease hahahaha!!!
Sounds excellent!
@David3 welcome to the family my friend happy growing
I was born and raised not very far from you: only moved to Colorado 5 years ago.
Glad to have you hanging out on the forum. Don’t forget to put up some pictures…
Well, I have to learn to transfer pictures through my own email and then I can send a picture or two for the forum. I am one of those lost dinosaurs who are late learners on how to transfer info. Tomorrow I’ll dig something up through you tube on how to do these things. I do appreciate the help. I need to learn this technical stuff. For now I think maybe leaving the lights on for another week. I also have Granddaddy purple which is getting ready for harvest. I took a small sample of Girl Scout Cookies two weeks ago and it was surprisingly strong. Smooth smoke, great flavor. Nice to get ready to sleep. Next year I’ll be 80 and will continue until the end of the road. Ha! I’ve loved my weed ever since the 1960’s. Cops never got me. Just nature closing in. The Old Man!!!
Fairly new here myself , smart bunch of growers here . Welcome . I have the same thing happening with a plant , a lot of trichomes are still clear but I’m getting a lot of amber . 105 days from seed , it’s testing pretty good so it got the chop . I needed the room as well . Peace .
I think that is what I’m going to have to do. My smoke is right up there pretty strong and yet only a few faint amber trichomes. A lot of translucent and milky. And over do for harvest. One or two weeks I’ll wait and then chop. T.O.M.
Hi David. I’m not sure if it’ll help you but if you use your phone to take the picture and then use your phone to go on the internet to this forum then it’s just as easy as typing your message and clicking on the photo icon to add your pictures. Welcome aboard and congrats on making it to 80. Many people in the world aren’t lucky enough to make it thus far. I hope to be as lucky as you. And growing at that age!
Grow on brotha
Thank you! I will make that my first attempt to connect. The Old Man
Hi @David3 welcome to the forum.
I’m new to the forum (hope I’m posting correctly). I’m on my 2nd grow, doing the ILGM Sativa Mix. I’m having trouble knowing when I’m finished and ready for harvest. I read the description of the strain and it’ll say “Flowering Time Indoors - 77 days”. Does that mean harvest at 77 days? and also from when do you start counting the days? seeds in water, days later seeds crack, days later move to soil, days later seeds break surface of soil, days later seedling gets 2 nodes? When do you declare you have a seedling? It was 16 days from the plant breaking the surface of the soil to having 3 nodes. That’s when I declared them to be a seedling. So here I am 77 days after I declared them to be a seedling. From my first grow these supposedly have 3 to 4 more weeks before harvest but I think they look pretty close. What do you think?
Welcome @jlaw4321_gmail.com to the site. That’s usually just an average of time to harvest. I have a LSD auto thats about 5 weeks over the due date. Still a few white hairs and very little amber. So just keep tabs on your trichomes . I would guess you have 2-3 more weeks to go. Just keep checkin cause sometimes they change really quick. Light, strain and your growing condition all make a difference. Don’t judge by the amber on the sugar leafs , look into the buds for the amber. Just my 2c worth.
You got a few weeks yet.
Start counting for flower time after you see pistils forming. 8 to 10 weeks from there.
Welcome aboard.
Start a journal to keep track of your grow. Lots of folks would follow along.
Hey there! I harvested Girl Scout Cookies Extreme, feminized seeds from ILGM. They refused to turn amber and all of the white pistals turned brown. I waited an additional 2 weeks and did the harvest regardless of no amber. I had taken samples during the later part (3 weeks before harvest) of flowering. These small samples were mostly milky and translucent. Took one large hit first thing this morning to test how strong it was. I enjoyed the heavy feeling when it started. This is medicinal and very satisfactory. I had to purchase cannabis in the past at a really nice dispensary before this present grow, and I always bought the highest THC. After talking with people behind the counter I was told that I was very resistant. This Girl Scout Cookie Extreme which had almost nothing in the line of amber was surprisingly strong. Much stronger than the 30% THC from the dispensary. Actually I have bought there many times and nothing was as strong as these Girl Scout Cookie Extreme with no amber. I still want Amber, and I must grow again and again until I get the amber. Good Luck Sir
HI there @David3 and welcome to the place to be. That Girl Scout Cookies Extreme sounds nice. I will definitely have to try that someday. Since it’s part OG Kush I know it’ll be good. I have a OG Kush growing right now that will be done in a few weeks. You can’t go wrong with the Kush family. My everyday smoke right now is Bubba Kush from last year and it packs a punch.
As for not getting the amber you’re looking for I’d say be patient and hopefully it’ll change for ya. Some strains may not exhibit a pronounced amber coloration even at the end of their growth cycle. But there are other factors such as light and temps that could also affect it. I myself like a more energetic high, not to much amber. But hey you know, different strokes for different folks. Whatever is good for you is the right one.
Hey I’m with you right there. I started in the late 60’s and I’ve smoked a lot of herb along the way but I still have never come across anything that can compare with the taste of the herb of those years. Red/Gold Columbian-Thai Stick-Jamaican just to name a few.
Well work on getting your pictures straightened out so we can see your grow. We all love some eye candy.
Here’s a current gro, OG Kush, Won’t be long for her.
Keep on puffin my friend!
