Im getting close to the end on my Northern Lights and being my first grow in coco, using jack’s 3,2,1… I’m wondering about the final flush. I couldn’t find info specific to jack’s in coco. Any advice would be appreciated
I don’t really feel you’re going to notice a difference flushing or not. About the best argument I’ve seen is that feeding the last week isn’t going to change much with your plants anyway, so why put effort and cost of nutrients into them. Using that logic, and assuming you time properly, i think going to straight water or using whatever finishing technique you prefer is plenty good. And if you miss and don’t get a full week in, it’s not going to make much of a difference.
The idea that you can stop giving plant nutrients and there won’t be any left in plant is pretty much absurd. Anything you put in will be there to some extent. Having toxic levels of an element may be a little different story. But you cannot simply remove elements from plants by quitting the process of giving them. Not for a day, week, or month. So my opinion is to work them as hard as reasonable while it makes a difference, and 2 weeks without any nutrients is usually too long.
I like the idea of pushing them, my experience is usually I take the top 1/2 of the plant and lower lights to try and fatten those lower buds some. I definitely (assuming I haven’t already killed the plant )
These plants are much healthier at this point than any previous soil grow. I figured soil did hold more nutes naturally at the end so flushing too early didn’t really change much. But coco i figured would “rinse” out faster there by leaving nothing for further growth.
I think I’ll do a really good flush with water and then switch to 1/2 strength jack’s for a few days and see where im at.
Most advice I’ve gotten on trichromes says im a week or 2 away from 70% cloudy 30% amber.
I’ve never been able to run my sf4000 at 100% until this grow. So im not sure how fast thesd trichs are gonna change
What do you think about recharge at this point? I’ve been feeding that every other day or so
I dont flush in coco but i do try to give them just water for the last three waterings. Since i water every 2 days, i hold nutes from them for 6 days. Unless it’s a leap year and then its 7 days lol
I use J’s 321 as well, DWCR. I just stop adding nutes to the water when i think I have 3 weeks left before chopping. I dont change the water out, I just add ph’ed water.
I honestly believe you have more then two week by those last few shots. Sugar leaves tend to be glittered with ambers when calyx are finally really maturing. Seeing too many clears in those last few shots.
Id keep right on feeding full strength for another week at least before making any big changes
I gave them 1/2 strength 321. Ill give another nute feeding full strength and then start using water only. Thanks. It would be nice for a chart showing particular trichs and guesstimates as to approximate time left. I know a long shot but they have charts for everything else
Thanks @Fieldofdreams i was thinking by end of the month. Im gonna feed them a time or two more. Thanks
