Add when planting seed onward

jacks 321 should i add for when i plant the seed or best to provide just straight ph’d water until sprouted ?
btw using foxfarm cultivation nation coco coir/perlite 70/30 mix no soil

It depends on what soil you are using. Many soils types don’t need added nutes for the 1st 4 to 6 weeks. Certainly do not feed them until the cotyledon leaves are gone.

Get a PPM meter and begin feeding your plants when the runoff PPM dips below ~1,000 and maintain that level throughout the grow.

An unscented will work. Many brands have additives. You want to use pure magnesium sulfate. Check the ingredient label before buying.

Some of us have dropped the Epsom from the mix. I have better looking plants now that I leave it out. @Myfriendis410 does this too.
But if you use it any that say Magnesium Sulfate USP as the ingredient and nothing else will work.

In Coco, which I also use, water the coco with full strength mix and let it drain and then plant your seed. You can go several days in a solo cup before it needs watering again.

Its Coco and perlite only. No food,’
A seedling will live off its cotyledons for a few days. But feeding from the start is best.
If you’re afraid you can start with a half strength mix. I do that sometimes.

I still use Epsom with Jack’s. I do a modified version for the first three weeks of flower: 2-2-2-1.2 of MKP until day 21. Then back to the 3-2-1 ratio.

Sorry, thought it was you. But I have left it off for this grow and it looks good.
I know the formula for garden plants has no Epsom.
Btw, I tagged you into another thread on runoff question.

I know @AfgVet has discontinued using Epsom. I just feel that I need plenty of Mg and C when running coco.

Not arguing by any means, I guess the reason it works without is Part A is 30-35% Magnesium Sulfate already. So adding more for cannabis may be because its a heavy user.
Anyway this run is an experiment to see what happens.

I had no sign of an issue in my plants until about three weeks into flower. Then the magnesium deficiency came out in a big way.:v:

GGG breaks it all down.

The magnesium and calcium are covered without the epsom. I ran it in coco and for once didn’t have a Cal/mag deficiency at the end of stretch.

I run jacks and silica in coco. I start with about 1.5ml of silica in the beginning. Upping it to 4ml come flower. But the Jacks I use at 4g Part A, 2g, Part B, but no epsom. Well, not no epsom. I’ve added it like twice over three grows.
