Rookie question…
When in seed’s description says that the expected yield will be 400g(rams)
that is after drying or the moment of harvesting?

Welcome to the forum. That is harvest. Amount is under premium conditions.
I always thought it was dried, if it’s wet, as soon as harvested, I’ve absolutely been killing it.
I could be wrong!!! Definately would not be the first time.
I stand corrected. Learn something every day or not trying.
Well here’s the thing, i plant a Kong 4 strain and everything went as supposed to go except when dried it i came up with 25g of strong as a hell fluffy buds.
About 1/6 of what supposed to be, it grew in green house of ideal conditions, even from similia photos was looking the same…still 25grams was a hell of a shock for me…sigh
P.s. unfortunately i didnt weight it when i harvest it.
Wet felt like was the weight expected (unfortunately didn’t weight it) but after dried up i end up down to 25g.
I really dont know what to think since it was my first one and i dont have previous experience to compare with.
Planning to start another one soon to see how it will go.
I had to give up the scale since my Tarzan taste tests a lot and my trim brigade takes home samples! I measure by volume now. A few pints of this, a couple quarts of that, and if one plant is a beast - a half gallon plus.
Under near perfect conditions, like commercial growers that breed the ILGM seeds or others have, then you can get close to or at the weights listed. Training, lighting, nutes, medium, all that and much more have to be dialed in tight.
Also, after drying, expect the final weight to be around 10% of the weight when chopped. Take into consideration stems, fan leaves, and undesirable buds (great for making hash or concentrates) that don’t go on the scale.
That is tough to take. I’d be disappointed too. It can happen but I think it is more apt to happen to an autoflower than a photoperiod,
The lowest weighing plant I grew was a northern lights. I was only a couple grows in at the time and it weighed 60 grams.
Some of it drip drying after a bath
I had taken cuttings from the small one. They too were small plants so I know it was genetics and not me. This is why I took cuttings.
I suspect genetics played an important role in your small plant. I don’t grow outdoors but environmental conditions and light are critical. Hopefully you will be rewarded with future grows. 6 - 8’ plants producing pounds is certainly possible in a greenhouse with the right conditions.

Just upgraded to a14 from an 8.
1) Strain
Kong 4
2) Method of soil
Fresh Soil bought for that purpose
3) Vessel
Black plastic pot (a big one, way more than needed for sure)
3) Water PH
Tap water with no clue of its PH
4) Nutrient solution
A Soil Supermix fertilizer diluted in water everyother watering cycle (2 waterings with plain water and 2 with fertilizer)
5) Indoor or outdoor
Both Starting it in a casbinet with at least 18+ hours of light then moved to a sunny Greenhouse.
6) Light system
Natural Day/night cycle, pretty much was 9-13 hours light than dusk/night
7) Temperature
Almost ideal, rarely for a brief time under 18 celsius for 4-6 hours but mostly anything between 18-30 Celsius.
8) Humidity
mostly 45-65% with a tendency of 55% most of the time.
9) Ventilation System.
Natural flow of air, when in cabinet for the first 2 weeks i was leaving the cabinet’s door a little bit open (that lasted like 2-3 weeks)
10) Co2
Not applicable, Actually dont understand the question here.
Note: Had zero issues or anything problematic
My two cents is that if your environment is dialed in then training is the biggest determinant of yield. You can get decent weight from an auto with one giant top bud, but you’ll do a lot better with a dozen or more nice “top” buds from a trained plant. I’d bet big money a properly trained plant will yield more than one left to do its thing in the same environment.
I looked up Kong 4. I see it is an auto. Paradise seeds says it produces 450g / meter2 or 50/g per plant.
I grow indoors and no longer grow autos. Growing them are not worth the risk of growing small plants. Way too much time and effort put into them to make them worth it. If greenhouse is only option I would supplement low light hours with a decent LED. A certain amount of DLI is necessary to produce good flowers. Something around 18 hours with 700 - 800 PPFD gives you DLI of 45 - 50.
Good growing to you next time.
dang if its dry weight ive not done very good so far. Only training I do is one tie down. I usually end up with 6-7 good colas, but I can for sure still tell the main cola. would I benefit to do another round of tie downs to keep canopy more even?
ps: I am lazy but if it can noticeably increase yield it would be worth it.
For the time being im growing on a greenhouse, when I’ll be financially stronger I’ll invest on lights/tent etc.
Thinking trying again with a Lemon Haze Auto to check my luck.
Thanx for your time.
