@StonedCold13 lol cheap and easy… i had those stands and they played but still destroyed my furniture lol. they went outside one day and never came back, I miss those guys
@SmokeyMtnHighs, that’s great, the longer it cooks the better. I’ve had them going for 2 weeks now, and it’s still going to be about 2 more weeks before I transplant into them.
Glad you’re following along!
@BudzMS I have 3 cats, and I’m off the hook crazy about making the home all about them, lol. There’s cat furniture from wall to wall, and even catwalks I built them that go from room to room. I live in a trailer, so I try to make up for the lack of space for them by getting creative. Here’s a pic of the catwalks over the living room.
that is so cool, I love it. I am a cat lover and a dog lover.
@Cap_Ron thank you, I will be building one for sure.
That’s freaking awesome! I built our 2 a enclosure to stay in at night to keep them out of trouble but you on another lvl. Ours are out and about except at bedtime. They now have 2 hammocks… I also put a strip of carpet from top to bottom that they get crazy on climbing and playing g with each other on lol…Love it !
@SmokeyMtnHighs, that’s a really nice pen for them. My 3 are indoor only, there’s too much car traffic and too many Coyotes where I live to let them out. This is as close as they get to the great outdoors, lol.
Lyra, Deneb, and Cygnus! Must have been a bird on the deck, lol.
Oh no lol by out and about i just meant their not closed up in their pen lol they are out and about inside the house! They definitely not going outside lol
Gotcha, I understand now. Is that one of those automatic litter boxes I see in the pen?
Yes and absolutely love it!
Decisions decisions!!
So here’s some info on which Advanced Nutrients products I use, a few that I don’t (anymore), and what I’ve replaced them with and why.
I no longer use Rhino Skin. Simple reason for this one, I didn’t see any results from using it at all. I tried the NPK Silica and my next run of plants had clearly thicker stems, stalks, and branches. Rhino Skin has 0.4% soluble potash, and .15% potassium silicate. The NPK silica is 45% silicon dioxide. The one liter bottle of Rhino Skin and the 8oz bag NPK silica cost close to the same. To me it seems like a no brainer.
I don’t use Sensizym anymore either, in favor of the NPK enzymes. They each have the same 3 enzymes in them, but the concentration is higher in the NPK stuff. More bang for your buck.
And lastly, I don’t use their microbe or fungi products anymore. The Voodoo Juice, Piranha, and Tarantula. They work great, just not great enough to be worth the insane money they want for it. Over the years I’ve used Mykos, NPK microbes, root wizard, Great White, and probably others, but I settled on these 2 products from Microbe Life Hydroponics. The Photosynthesis Plus, and the Vegetable and Fruit Yeild Enhancer. The Photosynthesis Plus is undoubtedly the worst smelling product I’ve ever used, but the plants really love it. It stinks up the entire room when I open the bottle. Anyway, they have microbes, fungi, and lots of humic acid. I’ve been using them both for a while now, my plants are happy and my root balls are just as nice as they were when I was using stuff that cost 3 or 4 times more.
I still use the Connoisseur base nutrients, B-52, Bud Candy, Big Bud, Nirvana, Overdrive, and Flawless Finish.
I see how many people are using Jack’s on here. Maybe I’ll get around to giving it a try sometime down the road, but I just recently restocked my Advanced Nutrients supply, so it won’t be for a while.
I’ve used down to earth 444 and 484 on a plant thru the grow top fed 444 2 or 3 times fed jacks daily. Then I don’t remember if I topped the 484 2 or 3 times also but it was fed jacks with the top dress the whole run
That is awesome!!
I didn’t follow the regular instructions for the Earth Dust when I filled the fabric pots. I had emailed back and forth with Dan and Drew from the Green Sunshine Company, and spoken about it with the owner of my local grow store. We concluded that because I’m growing autos, and that I won’t be transplanting them into the final pots until they’re over 2 weeks old, there was no need to use the full amount of the Base, and I added some of the Boost into the soil in the lower halves of the pots. Basically, the plants will be going into pre flower in just a week to a week and a half after the transplant, so they’ll be ready for the Boost soon enough.
I’ve got a clean bucket, an air pump, and an air stone to make a tea for them if they start looking hungry down the road between top dressing. For those of you who have used Earth Dust before, did you need to supplement with teas, or did the top dressings keep them happy through flower?
@Cap_Ron I’ve been growing with dust for a little over a year now and most of the time I don’t have to do any tea. The only times I have had to is long flowering sativas, what I did last time is just did a small third top dressing instead of messing around with tea I don’t think teas do a whole lot anyway
I switched to larger pots and reducing the amount of defoliation I do this grow mainly as a test to see if I can push em a little harder and increase my yield, kind of a more food more fat approach
Thank you @MeEasy, I’m happy to have people who’ve used it before to ask questions about it.
I plant my auto seeds straight into their forever pot, so no transplanting. Worked great for me.
@SmokeyMtnHighs, I did it that way for my first several runs of autos, but I always felt like they didn’t get off to as good of a start in big pots as they do in solo cups. So many things are a matter of preference when it comes to growing. It’s one of the reasons it’s so nice to have all these people to chat with and ask questions.
