8 weeks 5 days when do I switch to 12/12 from 18/6 light cycle?

Ok , I’m at 8 weeks 5 days with a plant since 9-2-2021. I just posted some pics earlier. If and when should I switch light cycles? I’m still vegging at 18/6.

Thanks,

I normally switch between 6 and 10 weeks depending on the strain and the training method I’m using. Most of the time people decide when to switch by the size of the plant because once you switch the plants will stretch anywhere from 50-200% the amount of stretch is mostly decided by strain but you have some control with light intensity.
So what I suggest is measure your grow space from the top of the soil to the bottom of your light at it’s highest level then you want at least 15" between the light and plant so you’ll subtract that and that leaves you with the amount of space you have. Once you know how much space you have you don’t want your plants to be more than one third that height when you switch

Good morning.

You will get more and better responses if you keep things in one place. People will be reluctant to go searching for your photo.

The main concern most have when deciding to flip is how much space you have, as cannabis can double in size during the first few weeks of flowering. Many growers will flip their plant at between 8 and 10 weeks.

You tagged the post as auto-flowering. If that is the case you likely don’t need to flip.

Good catch. I missed it.

Confused post said auto flower ? If autos don’t need to change light cycle. I run mine 22/2 to keep temps from getting to cold . Others do 20/4 or 18/6 as long as you get your DLI your are ok

It’s not in the OP’s post. Autoflower is one of the categories the OP chose when creating the post. You can see it just under the title when viewing the thread.

My bad . It’s White Widow auto. It’s my 1st grow so I don’t know what to look for. All I remember is that to induce “flower” mode you switch to 12/12 light cycle. I just figured I’d ask after so many weeks.

Autos don’t care about the light cycle. Some do have trouble with autos that don’t flower for 8 to 10 weeks. Some growers will go to 12/12 temporarily or put the plant through a 36 hour dark period to trigger flowering.

Some will maintain 18/6 after an auto has started flowering to maximize DLI.

Ok here’s what the 9-2-2021 plant looks like atm . The other plant is dated 9-17-2021.
