It’s all about your budget and what you prefer. Some will say 12/12 will produce bigger yields, some will say 24 hours a day will. I prefer to let them get some rest, they are alive.
It’s all in the cultivator and the strain really.

That’s what I’m thinking… maybe the timeline is off 7 weeks of flower I would expect a lot more amber hairs at the least

My experience growing autos they will grow on just about any reasonable light schedule but if I was growing autos alone with no photos I would run them on 18/6 . I usually throw a couple in the tent with my photos when it comes time to flip from 18/6 to 12 /12 the autos never know the difference. Hope that helps good luck

How do they not know the diffrence ? 20/4 to 12/12 is a pretty big change . Dosent the light effect how they grow ? So if you take 8hrs a day away from them im assuming they would know . I could be totally wrong

An auto is supposed to be bred so the gene for the need of 12/12 to start flowering is supposed to be gone. They flower on their own.
You could hypothetically veg a photo forever. It’ll only start to flower under the 12/12 lighting.
But that isnt always the case.
There would only be a big difference in your hour change if you do that. Most of the time cultivators slowly change them or change them by only a couple hours at a time. But autos pretty much just grow. No matter the lighting. We cater to them to get them bigger and more potent.

Personally I have grown autos on 18/6 start to finish 12/12 start to finish, End results about the same. like I said they will grow on about any reasonable light schedule
12/12 we’ll save you a little money on electric bill. The autos are not affected by the different light schedule. Good luck with your autos .

I have a total of 6 autos going right now. Everyone started to flower between week 3 and week 4 with the exception of my cbd auto it took a week and a half longer for flower to start. But i have the cbd in a tiny pot was gonna goof around with it and top and lst and see what an auto can take but i got on this forum and bam. No experimenting with that one just sent str8 for the ladies throat and started hacking away per the pros lol. They will get u on a good track here. And for photos and autos i think myself they are about the same growth times so photos moght be the better choice. I think im done with autos after i get rid of these 40 beans are done.

I agree with you. My auto flower career is going to be one and done. These just don’t seem to be bulking up like other plants I’ve grown, so not worth the time and money.

I like the autos. If I can get at least 2 oz a plant, I’m happy. We’ll see what I get in a few weeks though.

They’re a handy little stopgap between longer running photos. The 2 I’ve harvested so far were small, but they finished at JUST the right time. Provided us with something to fill the void while our dude was waiting on a restock. Can’t wait until I’m my own dude…

I think the people that dont like autos just have a hard time getting a decent yield off them. Lol.

My first one had major SNAFUs and my second ended up a bonsai… Only got about 20g off each of them, but it was 40g I didn’t have to pay for (about $325 worth at the local going rate) and I got to watch it grow and knew exactly what I was getting and how it had been treated.

I’ll get some yield, maybe a couple ounces tops off of 4 plants, but I’m a long way from being impressed at this point. They did seem a little firmer today, so maybe they’ll come around in the next couple weeks.
Are yours in flower yet? Here is my big ak. I’m hoping for 2-4 oz from her alone.
Then I have 2 more ak47 plants and a zkittlez.
Looks like you didn’t LST. Would have made her vushier. There are things you could do. But they look good. Looks like a decent yield. Photos take longer for a greater reward. Autos are shorter.
