5 Weeks in to veg and stressing out!

So i attached some different pics of how she looks so far. Ive ran into so many issues so far and im just stressing out about doing something wrong. Im doing LST and this is what its looking like. To me, it looks like shit lol, but i literally have no idea or baseline of what it should look like. I still dont know if its a male or female and ik when i should switch to 12/12 to put it into flower. Im just feeling super stressed out about it and dont know what to do next.

Absolutely. How much of a dose of nutes are you using? Recommended dose 1/2 dose 1/4 dose etc. FF ocean forest has nutes in it. So you could be overdosing.
How do you water? How do you determine when it’s time to water? How much etc.
Your light, what kind is it. Do you have any paperwork. Led lights have a listing of watts based on amount of LEDs and how many watts each one is rated for. They have 1, 3, 5 &10w. Usually in the paperwork it will saw how much wattage it draws. Whatever it says it draws is what it produces. It can’t produce more than it draws. In reality it puts off about 80% of that in light. 20% of what it draws is used by the fans and heat loss. How far above your canopy is the light?

For the first 4 weeks i only used PH water because ik FF has nutes in it. Now im doing (per Gallon) 2ml of cal mag, 1 ml micro, 1ml gro, .5ml bloom. I water until i see run off, and i determine when to water when the soil is dry knuckle deep. My light is Amazon.com this. The light is 28 inches above the plant.

The plant it self looks healthy. What im worried about is if im doing LST wrong and when do i need to switch to 12/12. Number 1 issue im having is LST tho becuase i have so many large fan leaves making it impossible for me to get around anything and stressing me out. I dont know when to tie down and when not too. Im damaging other leaves and stems trying to spread everything out because its so packed towards the top of the plant.

I was just eliminating all possibilities. My preflight checklist if you will. Lol. You send line you’ve got that handled. I personally water when I pick it up and it’s not heavy.

I lst this one to a screen with plant ties. This photo is 2 weeks ago. It was two weeks in flower. This was a close up of a cola then. I can take another pic in the morning. I removed my screen and have it under a different light but I’ll post it in the morning. I have 32 colas on my one plant. I do exactly what you did with one exception. If you look down a plant from the top is looks like an X because the nodes grow in different directions. I twist my stalk in between each node so when it’s flat the branches go left and right and no branch points down onto the soil.

should i just let it go and stop worrying about it? Does it look decent enough for my first grow ever? and when will i see vertical growth because i think thats what worrying me the most im not getting any vertical growth anymore

Man it looks amazing. Just make sure you pull any branches facing your soil to the edge of the pot or they will die. Your right on track. I’d pull them out and veg another month and flip it to flower.

And by branches you mean stems with colas on them right? not the fan leaves? sorry im just super new lmao

this is what mine looked like when I pulled my branches out before i let it veg another month actually 5 weeks after that. Yeah the ones that come out above the fan leaves that look like whole new mini weed plant growing.

ok, so as of right now i have all the branches pulled to the edge of the pot. Now i read someone else say once the colas reach the edge stop pulling them down and just keep them secured so they grow vertically, is that correct information?

Yep. You can’t tie beyond that any way. That’s why I used the screen. So I could pull it it like a grid.

yours looks so much better than mine in my opinon lol, it looks way more relaxed. Mines all crazy and so clustered, is that just the strain?

Let it veg a little bit. The colas that start popping out from the mini weed plants, pick the best ones. Trim fan leaves out a little bit so the colas can breath. When your flip to flower about two weeks later your plants start stretching to 2-3x its size. The little branches start getting more woody and they are not soft i untie the branches and let it reach out. You’ll see that when I post a pick in the AM

every thread i read said “dont trim fan leaves in veg” but theyre literally lbocking all of my colas.

Lst looks good

IMHO I think it’s getting around 110% fertilizer thereby siding on slightly toxic medium conditions.

Leaves that “droop”, are very green, and slightly down turned are a sure fire sign of too much fertilizer, any further and they’ll wilt, therein looking like they’re out of water when nothing is further from the truth.
High salts= Slower water flow
Too high in salts= Reverse osmosis.
Just right= Stout leaves standing at attention and facing the light source like little solar arrays.
Over watering and over fertilizing is the most common mistake I see that confuses the grower into the wrong remedy making things worse, not better.

Less is actually more in the case of nutrient uptake being too many PPM.

@NewbieNick your LST is looking good, plant looks a little droopy, I’m thinking you might be overwatering. I go e mine a dry period before watering again. Another suggestion is to pull a PH and TSD test of your run off, this will tell you if you are feeding correctly and that the soil has the proper PH.
