so now here is where my issue is going to come in guys, i use my tent to dry. it has been between the high 80s-93 degrees here in ny , i have an ac in my kitchen but tent is in living room the windows in there / lack of space make it not ideal to even attempt to put a portable ac in there , i have an oscillating tower fan , a huge floor fan and a clip on fan at my disposal besides my AC infinity cloudseries inline fan , what can i do about dropping the temperature when it’s time for the dry?
All you can do is AC. Portable AC in living room. Mini-Split is a good investment if you own the property.
I had to bite the bullet and give myself a grow room. Cost me a room in the house but I have AC and a Dehumidifier in with three tents to control the environment.
2 grow and a dry tent
unfortunately this house was bought in like 91 and nothing has changed since it’s inception so the windows are not very convenient for a portable AC ,
very dated window style
only spare room we have is being turned into a room for gram gram / guest room for visiting family when grandma is back home in jamaica, that was my plan previously @JimWantsToGrow
Well that’s cool. I have a “storage closet” downstairs that is almost 9’x10’. Works great. I’d like to seal it better though.
There’s plenty of portable AC’s out there. Like I also mentioned, Mini-Splits are more efficient!

Not all portable AC’s are window units either.
That’s a great idea! I never thought of that. I may have to add this to my upgrade list. Rock on @Sammys .
Yeah, an AC is a must for me. I have my tent in my bedroom. I have an air-conditioner in one window and the exhaust from the tent blows into the lung room and gets circulated with the AC air. I have a cieling fan running constantly along with another industrial fan to keep the air from getting stagnant in the lung room. Its all about the air in the lung room for me.
Last week we had high 90s temps and the easiest way i found “without spending money cause im broke
” was to open the bottom flaps and put a fan a couple feet away. I had an extra floor fan i used. Hope that helps.
Any extra air movement helps Highgrow
next grow maybe , definitely don’t have those funds right now lol
I like to think of it as an investment! Mini-splits are less-likely to break, less likely to run out of coolant, and are easier to maintain imo.
But there are some good portable AC’s, only problem is it’s about the same cost as a mini split
. Also would be nice to cook the area for you all as well! Investment in the property, if you ever choose to sell it’ll bump up the price as well.
Definitely worth it! I don’t have one in my grow room but I bought one and it’s waiting to be installed!
I’ve had one in my own room for a while now ~ 3 years? And it still cools my room down to the ice age.
Exactly what im doing. Its working goog. It helps to have a little more intake power to keep the air fresh…
