i don’t want to post the link and get in trouble but one might suggest going directly to crxsunny website they have them at half price… right now a 1000w V5 COB will set you back a lowly $146 :open_mouth:

The only thing I have referenced is the mau5 videos. He has a DIY video for a COB light. Check it out

Wow not bad I paid 169 I think for mine

so my tiny little brain is over loaded now and I’m sure you and @MAXHeadRoom have both answered this a million times but here goes… with cobs is the 1000w give you 1000w of light or are they the same as LEDs and the true wattage in cobs case is the power consumption

I treat them the same as reg leds my friend
They are supposed to have high par ratings
I was taught 35watts per sq foot for leds cob or otherwise

thanks @Countryboyjvd1971 i just wanted to be certain  guess i’ll be making a little order after next crop :stuck_out_tongue:
one last question, it is IMPOSSIBLE to have to much light? say 2 x 1000w cob at 240w each off the wall i think plus still use a 400w HPS for the penetration? or would that be overkill?

I knew i saw it somewhere lol but yes @Countryboyjvd1971 it was Dumme & Latewood making them

link deleted…lool

I found this cob light…Isn’t the surface too small??

thanks guys for your help

haha that’s the 1 @Ivan2309 i just know they don’t like links posted unless to their partner sites but they are a great price on there, and i know what you mean about them being very small surface areas but they are very intense lights much more so than stock LEDs from what i can ascertain and as cheap as they are why stop at 400w lol maybe a 600 or 800 lol

thats right… lol
sorry, so 1 is quite enough for my 2x2 growroom? @B345T

given Countrys answer there, a 2 x 2 grow room would need 4 x 35= 140 true wattage now the 400w you posted has an actual power draw of 100 watts from the wall if i use @Countryboyjvd1971 logic and given the beautiful plants his has posted up there i’d have to say he knows his stuff lol… then a 400w wouldn’t quite cut it the CrxSunny V4 800W COB LED on the same site is only $14 more and pulls 200w of wall meaning 50w per square foot of true wattage which would be way more than ample rather than cutting it close or just falling short

good choice lol

Okay, finally i understood :relaxed:

thanks bro @B345T

no worries bro everyone is here to help at the IGLM community a great bunch here… and when one person cant help you can be sure they know someone who does lol

I would just ask you one more thing regarding the fans of the led lights.
Are they too noisy or…? For example: “MarsHydro 300W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum” or “Galaxy hydro 300 watt 9 band with UV and IR”.
Because of my environment I need something as quiet as possible.
@Countryboyjvd1971 @B345T @ktreez420
Thanks

I’ll be honest with you they are not silent but are fairly quiet they move a lot of air
They aren’t much louder then your computer fans but the more you have running the louder it gets
I have 12 fans. 2per light fixture so yes I hear them running but your neighbor wouldn’t @Ivan2309 or someone in the next room
