3 Strain Outdoor Grow Journal

Thanks for the advice! Pretty sure that is going to be the only topping I do throughout this grow. The rest will just be LST from here on out. I am excited to see how the Northern Lights #2 turns out just letting her grow natural.

The ladies are now 5 weeks old today! I have started feeding the Fox farms trio starting with 7.5mL of Big Bloom and 2.5mL of Grow Big per gallon. And adding 5mL/gal of CalMag during each watering. Orange Sherbet and Gelato (5gal pots) are getting a half gallon each watering and Feeding, and the Northern Lights (2gal pots) are getting a quarter gallon. Northern Lights #1 seems to be recovering after her topping!

The Gelato had an accident last night, I guess I tied her down a little too tight and she snapped her main stem right in half trying to rise back up!!

I added some honey to the wound and taped her up. Fingers crossed that she can heal🤞 And she has just started showing signs of preflower!

The ladies are now 6 weeks old (+1 day), wasnt able to get good pics yesterday due to some bad weather! Unfortunately the Gelato main top did not recover from the snap, so we are just rolling with half the plant!
I am currently feeding them 15mL Big Bloom and 10mL Grow Big per gallon. The Orange Sherbet and Gelato (5 gallon pots) are taking about a half gallon each, and the Northern Lights (2gallon pots) are taking about a quarter gallon each. Still adding 5mL per gallon of CalMag with each watering. This week I plan to up the Feedings to 20mL Big Bloom, 15mL Grow Big, and 5mL Tiger Bloom. Each week they seem to be getting about 1 feeding and 1 watering.

Heres my schedule and some pics of the ladies!

Looks good so far…Huh that N.lights# 2 looks like a few of mine…I call them skyscrapers arent the phenos funny some of the same strains come out so different…they look healthy…good job.

Yes, it is really cool to see how different phenos can have a completely different plant structure! Im curious to see how tall this NL#2 is gonna grow, she is actually 1 week younger than the rest. And not sure if your NL is ILGM or not, but these two NL are from Seedsman, leftover seeds from last year.

Last year on my “Lengthy NL pheno” like this one, there were no buds, and seemed to only produce really long foxtails, very weird…… Have you seen anything like this??

growing good, my northern lights is kind of lanky too, royal queen seed, already starting to flower and stretching more, first time growing autos
I think I like photos better but when battling rain in the fall the harvested autos might look move favorable

@blueskies Thanks! Yours is looking really good too, this is only my second grow and my first time letting a plant just grow natural and do her thing, so im excited to see the outcome! And ive only grown autos, maybe next year ill make the switch to at least one photo and try to grow one of those 8ft bushes! lol

I grew a late season ILGM northern lights a couple years ago. Small plant because I started end of July but great buds!

@Naturalmedsman Looks like a really healthy plant to me!!! Love those light green buds!! I think my Northern Lights #2 is about done stretching out now. I haven’t actually measured, but id say shes somewhere around 3.5ft tall.

I am one grow ahead of nag! one indoor and this is my second outdoor but first auto’s, I learned a ton from all the helpful people on this forum.

for my first grow it wa indoors and did a lot of tweaking of the the environment and a lot of training and loved just chilling with the plants.

for the outdoors I go low key, happy frog in a 10 gallon hole in the ground and dr earth or earthdust top dressed, a little blackstrap molasses every 2 weeks and water about 2x a week depending on weather and use some jascks dead bug here or there, very low maintenance.

I made a mistake the lanky plant is a watermelon from royal queen not a northern lights. here is the northern light

here is a royal cookie about a foot high

next year try some photos for sure, they grow like weeds!

@blueskies Very nice! I haven’t attempted an indoor grow yet. Ill probably just stick with outdoor for the foreseeable future, I feel like outdoor is probably a little less maintenance and time consuming!

(referring to your northern light pic from last year)

I saw another post in the outdoor section " banana kush autoflower" I think with this same issue. some thought it may be an expression of unwanted dominance of the ruderalis component of auto flowers.

I googled some pics of 100% ruderalis buds and some seem to have some tendency to be more wispy or foxtailish.

did you smoke it?

I have notice my autos do not seem to grow as vigorous as the other plants and the leaves look different, I thought they might be having some issue but now I realize it is more due to the ruderalis component .

got a little rain and some sunshine. keep growing!

@blueskies Thats very interesting info! I havent been able to find anything on it.
But unfortunately I am unable use the cannabis I grow, its for the wife. She said those foxtailed buds off the weird plant are more potent than the regular buds from the normal plant. She did have alot more trichomes on her!
But I mainly use all those foxtails to make gummies!

@budsbuddy @Graysin @AL_GREEN @blueskies
So the ladies are 7 weeks old (+2 days) and seem to be doing pretty well!

Orange Sherbet (back right), Northern Lights #2 (back left), Northern Lights #1 (front right), & Gelato (front left).

Northern Lights #1 is getting a little WPM and yellowing lower fan leaves, but other than that all seems well!!

Start treating it now if you haven’t been already. You don’t want that to spread.
