Yeah I got the 20 gal totes and garbage can for the res from Lowes and pvc for the scrog from HD.
It’s really pretty easy to put together. Get some pvc cutters, pvc glue, pvc cutoff valves, bulkheads, 3/4” black plastic tubing, 3/4” hose clamps, water chiller, air pump, air stones and wa la. It can be configured to fit any space.
Hey guys, so need some guidance! @Graysin i heeded your wisdom about not overly changing the water when I saw a ph spike or anything.
But I think I’ve reached a point to go to the next step.
For instance, girl B; 7-10 is when I moved her from the bucket to the tote. First 3 days she was in there were looking good!
1140 ppms 6.0 ph
7-11 940 @ 5.9
7-12 660 @ 6.1
7-13 540 @ 5.8
Then…. On day 3 like clockwork,
7-14, 3.7 PH 530 ppms (topped up, and PH-UP to 5.9ph)
7-15 again, dropped to 3.7 ph 495 ppms.
As well, girl ‘A’ has been following the same trend but the ph spikes haven’t been as drastic. On 7-13 the ph was 4.1 , 490 ppms. And I haven’t done a rez change for ‘A’ since 7-1
I guess I’ve been tapering them off the nutes for about 1 1/2 weeks now. My ‘common sense’ deemed it might be the thing to do since i think there nearing the end.
This timeline is fairly approximate by only a few days, but they are all about 11 1/2 weeks from seedling to now.
Approximate flowering time:
C. 5 1/2 weeks
A. 5 1/2 weeks
B. 5 weeks
Y. No clue, but close to the others.
So the question is, should I go ahead and rinse and start flushing? Or perhaps do a light nute change on them.
I haven’t seen any color change in the trichomes yet, and as for the whole ‘cloudy/milky’ look I’m not entirely sure what that’s supposed to look differently from the regular trichomes lol. If this makes any sense.
Pistils are changing red all over on most of them.
So that’s the gist of it.
Any insight I’d greatly appreciate. If anyone needs more info to help figure this out lmk!! Thx guys. @HappyHydroGrower@HMGRWN
She’s telling you, feed me. When ppm’s are dropping like that, she’s eating good. Try to keep the ppm value the same every day and you may see less fluctuations.
Ahhh! Damn idk why I was thinking the opposite.
She’s in a 12gallon tote, and with the semi awkward shape of it I’m topping it up to 6 3/4. Let’s just round up and call it 7gallons lol. B is still drinking 1-2 gallons a day, A and C are drinking 1-1.5 every other day
Did you ever figure out the issue with the brown spots? I’m in soil and been battling same thing and it’s so ugly lol. Mine I was assuming was due to low PH not allowing cal mag but curious what you found.
You should focus on the mushroom-cloud shaped trichomes. The bulbous heads are where you will be able to evaluate trichome ripeness. The wisdom I received as a new grower is “clear looks like glass, cloudy looks like plastic, and amber… is amber.”
Hey man! Yah we managed to get it figured out, was definitely a combo of pH fluctuations and light intensity! And yah I was also adding some extra doses of cal mag for a few days! It got worse before it got better. But now she’s a-okay! Haha, lots of ugly leaves but I’ve snipped out some dead ones, and the buds are thriving.
That’s what I’m talking about boss man! Thanks for that
And copy that! Will dose her up in the AM. Given her age, what ppms should I aim for? I didn’t know she’d keep on truckin lol so I’m in uncharted waters here
Hey guys.
Question, so my girl B, has been riddled and plagued with probably every type of deficiency, light burn, ph issues etc lol. But is still going strong!
Should I be removing these super ugly leaves coming from the buds? There’s a lot of ugly growth and good growth. I haven’t been removing to many of the bad leaves up towards the top just because it’s all she’s got up there.
Hey guys! So did some defoliation yesterday, went well I believe. Decided to take advantage of having the other plants out of the tent and do some grooming on girl B. All hell broke loose when I removed the net
The buddage on her is a lot more intense then I thought! Found whole ft long buds I’d never seen before
