You want to hear an audible snap on the branch, but you want the branch to stay together. Feeling the outside of the buds can be very misleading, the outside will feel crispy but inside is still very wet. The smell will change as you get close.
You can also use a moisture meter, on wood setting you’ll look for 12%
Thanks for the answer
You’re welcome! Without knowing your drying parameters I would say you have between 4-9 days left.
People that have dedicated drying rooms typically aim for 60 degrees 60% RH and take 12+ days to dry.
Oh im at 55/60% humidity and 22/21 Celsius (68/71,6f)
Deceptively so.
Dense buds heavy with oil will take longer to dry.
I am experiencing some really slow drying, currently.
It’s so hard to give advice on drying, I struggle to keep temps under 70s in summer, (i basically can’t) so with 70-75f and around 60%rh. It’s not uncommon for mine to be dry in 3-6 days.
If it’s some really thick dense buds then obviously a little longer say a full week.
I look for the skinny stems to break and the thicker ones to kinda “pop” when bent. Not snap like the thin stems and not just bend, but rather a slight pop when pinched or bent…
I also go around and try to snap of the tips of larger buds, if the very tip (say ÂĽin) snaps off a few areas then thats a sign to me that they are ready to bag up.
If that ¼in tip doesn’t snap off easily and bends, then it’s not ready yet…
Unfortunately there is no exact formula to follow for this step it really just takes trial and error to get it how you like it.
Will you be useing jars of Grove bags to cure?
I Will Be using jars with integra boost 62%
Btw i had these small branches and they seem dry
I Guess trial and error Is the only way to be sure of what i am doing
Even after a lifetime of trial and error these finicky ladies only allow us to make better guesses, but they will certainly keep us on our toes.
