2nd Auto Grow, organic coir, Gaia green, week 3

I meant to start this thread a few weeks ago, but this month went by really fast for me.

I started seeds on 09/02, one Critical and one Blackberry. Both are autos. The Critical popped two days later, but while the Blackberry sprouted then too, the sprout was abnormal: crinkled, too long, and the seed shell never fell off. It didn’t look like it would survive. So I planted another Blackberry seed on 09/05 and it took about 4 days to sprout.

My grow mix this round is:

1 brick canna coco
Approx 7lbs worm castings
2 gallons perlite
Roughly 1 gallon vermiculite
Mycorrhizae
Gaia green dry amendments: 1TBSp 284 and 2TBSp 444 per gallon of media. I amended based on 4 gallons of media since I wasn’t sure if you’d count the perlite and everything else as media (since it is inert) or just the coir.

This made enough to fill two 5 gallon fabric pots with some leftover. I plan to use the leftovers for mixing in amendments when I top dress and also to fill the pots a bit more as the medium shrinks down. First top dress is end of this week. Next/last will be in another 5 weeks. Dry amendment amounts will change for those feedings.

It’s been warmer in the tent this time, around 80°F or so with lights on, and about 71°F with lights off. They really seem to be liking the warmer temps. I’m going to try to maintain these temps this grow and see how things go. With colder weather on the way in a few weeks, it make take more effort to do so. Humidity is around 60% with lights on.

Some pics taken yesterday:

The perlite is not that dark looking in person, photos really make it look dirty.

If you’d like to see my first grow, here is the thread (more troubleshooting than a grow log). Thanks to @Autos-only and @ChittyChittyBangin for their help!

Anytime bro. Keep on growing on!

They look excellent! Keep it up.

Things are going well! Both plants have really taken off after top feeding about two weeks ago. They received 1.5Tbsp 444 and 1.5Tbsp 284 Gaia Green per gallon of media mixed in some leftover coir mix along with more mycorrhizae. Then I did their watering with some added molasses to the water and corrected the ph.

I’ve removed numerous fan leaves from the Critical and they keep coming! I removed ones that were too close to the soil and others blocking bud sites. I also am doing LST to spread some branches out a bit.

The Blackberry has taken off height-wise. I’ve raised the lights twice now and they are at 75% intensity already. It hasn’t filled in anything like the Critical. But I’d guess that’s the strain as it seems fine otherwise.

Both are showing pre flowers and definitely pistils on the Critical. I’ve been keeping the temp around 80°F and they really seem to enjoy it.

Here’s a few pics.

Another small update. Plants were fed this last weekend, was week 6. They’re doing really well, I raised my lights twice again. I think they’ve stopped vertical growth now.

They received 2TBsp 284 and 1TBsp 444 per gallon media and
more mycorrhizae. Mixed into leftover grow media and top dressed. Then watered in with molasses added for their usual watering.

Both are showing lots of pistils and are starting to build up some frost. Blackberry is also showing some nice purple colors. Here are some pics:
