I meant to start this thread a few weeks ago, but this month went by really fast for me.
I started seeds on 09/02, one Critical and one Blackberry. Both are autos. The Critical popped two days later, but while the Blackberry sprouted then too, the sprout was abnormal: crinkled, too long, and the seed shell never fell off. It didn’t look like it would survive. So I planted another Blackberry seed on 09/05 and it took about 4 days to sprout.
My grow mix this round is:
1 brick canna coco
Approx 7lbs worm castings
2 gallons perlite
Roughly 1 gallon vermiculite
Mycorrhizae
Gaia green dry amendments: 1TBSp 284 and 2TBSp 444 per gallon of media. I amended based on 4 gallons of media since I wasn’t sure if you’d count the perlite and everything else as media (since it is inert) or just the coir.
This made enough to fill two 5 gallon fabric pots with some leftover. I plan to use the leftovers for mixing in amendments when I top dress and also to fill the pots a bit more as the medium shrinks down. First top dress is end of this week. Next/last will be in another 5 weeks. Dry amendment amounts will change for those feedings.
It’s been warmer in the tent this time, around 80°F or so with lights on, and about 71°F with lights off. They really seem to be liking the warmer temps. I’m going to try to maintain these temps this grow and see how things go. With colder weather on the way in a few weeks, it make take more effort to do so. Humidity is around 60% with lights on.
Some pics taken yesterday:
The perlite is not that dark looking in person, photos really make it look dirty.
If you’d like to see my first grow, here is the thread (more troubleshooting than a grow log). Thanks to @Autos-only and @ChittyChittyBangin for their help!
