Second Grow: Amnesia Haze, Gold Leaf***, maybe a Blueberry details inside

I am just starting my second grow. I started germinating a Blueberry, Amnesia Haze, Gold Leaf. I started the BB and AH autos first. I made a big mistake in that I did not label both, and one of them had started to fall off the peat pellet that they were germinating on. I tried to prop it up, which was a bad idea, because I broke the little one and it died. I still had one going, but I am not entirely sure which strain it is; I think it is the AH, because it’s first leaves look different than when I first grew a BB auto earlier this year.

It is currently about a week old, from germ, she’s tiny. Little cutie.

So, I started germinating a Gold Leaf*** (around 7/10-7-11), but after a few days now the seed looks like it is dead, I have seen no little one growing. If I don’t see anything it will be my first dud seed. I then started another AH auto. It has only been one day, I expect it to germ by tomorrow (7/16), as the other seeds I have germinated have only taken about 48 hours to show me a seedling.

You can check my other post about my first grow for a full pick of the set up. You have to scroll down a bit in my post to see it.

Lights
Viparspectra 300W LED
One 81W Strip LED
One 54W Strip LED

Medium:
Coco Coir - pH around 6-6.5

Nutes
Flower Power - I have the pack that comes with Start, Boost, Bloom, and Grow
I have already begun using the Start (11-40-13) for the first two waterings keeping it just at 1EC. I will use the Grow (19-5-20) for the next watering and will keep it at 1-1.6EC, then I will jump to 1.6EC for the 3rd week. The pH is kept between 6-6.5

My biggest issue is going to be the temps, it has been extremely hot so I have been hitting 80 degrees, but when the AC kicks on it drops to 70-75. Humidity is around 60%

I’ll be updating weekly

She’s blowing up pretty fast. The change in just one day is pretty amazing.

Update 7/19: First AH auto is looking good. Got my digi meter and pH is 5.8, feeding with Flower power start 1EC, RO is looking good

Bonus pic brassavola cucullata in spike

Almost 3 weeks from seed

Nice :+1: o usually keep my grows simple andbonly do one or two strains max at a time but I’ll do a few plant I have two larger tents and a third for seedlings and early veg so I can grow min of 6-8 comfortably :+1:

there are a ton of you around here that have the cleanest nicest grow area’s My place looks like a free for all - Nice pink pots and clean floors and wrapped cords - i gotta do a video of my mess

That is so weird that you say that because my amnesia Haze bent at the stem and died a few days after sprouting, and I’ve read another journal this summer where that grower had the same issue with their amnesia Haze sprout damping off at the stem and dying, wondering if it’s a “thing” with this strain?

LOL You should have seen my first grow. I was using my closet with a 5 gallon bucket, I wrapped some mylar on that foam board you buy at hobby shops. It was a huge mess, cords all over and stuff. The tent I bought is a Vivosun, cost about $80 off Amazon. You can get smaller tents, cheaper fans and such. It’s a process. It took me a bit to acquire the goods. You’ll get there if you want, and the plants don’t care what the place looks like, just that they are taken care of

Well my first seedling died because I messed with it. I did not push it into the peat pellet enough, so it did not have support. It was growing and attached, but it had fallen over. I should have left it alone until I was going to repot it. I will say though, that I am not sure if it was the Blueberry or AH seedling that died. I think it was the Blueberry. The plant in the pic I have up now, looks like the leaves are more narrow than the Blueberry I grew earlier this year. The only dud, maybe, so far is the Gold Leaf***. It has been sitting in the nice peat pellet for most of the week and it has not sprouted. It could be that it may just take a bit longer to germ than the Blueberry and AH. Both of those sprout in 48 hours, give or take.

Hey bro, Congrats of the second grow! Coco is a soiless medium so your pH needs to be 5.8 to make your girls happy. pH AROUND isn’t a real good idea. They like their pH a bit more specific.

Invest in a proper meter and they will thrive when you keep the pH nailed!

Best wishes on your grow!

Thanks, bob. Yep, I have done my research, I just don’t have a digital meter yet so AROUND is as good as it gets until it arrives. I have read in a few places that varying the pH is also helpful. Obviously, you do not want to go outside the range for mj, but it can help the plants since they can vary in what pH they actually like. My biggest issue is going to be the heat and trying to keep it under 80. It has been very hot this year, I am looking into a small portable AC unit. Thankfully humidity is easier to control.

actually if you go a few points in any direction you start locking out the nutrients your plants need. “Around” works most on everything like Hand grenades and stuff like that but outdoor grows in pots or indoor grows they really thrive under nailed pH.

My plants have been in temps from 50 degrees to near 100 with no issues in growth. They however are getting very precise pH and feedings!

Yeah, from what I have read, people mostly use 5.8-6.0, but without the digi meter it is very difficult to get a perfect pH. My last watering was at 6, but the coco coir I am using sits naturally between 6-6.5. I always keep my watering at 6, that is the easiest to tell with the pH kit that I have; when I get the digi I’ll hit 5.8 to help with the coco coir being at a higher pH

Gracias, I’ll keep you guys posted on the developments.

My tent has been well over 100deg for most of the summer. Plants are thriving! I consider my tent cool when it gets down to 80!

@bob31 got the digi meter and my pH is on point now 5.8

my second AH is breaking soil and almost a seedling

Forgot an additional bonus pic: This copper head was warming itself on the road, so I had to move it…or made it move just by giving it a nudge with a very long stick

How can the stem bend if you put the light close enough?
