1st journal! 3rd grow, QB'S & FFOF soil w/ WWEF seeds

Need some input…looking at size of plant (WWE) Lto R I’m thinking that after flip the stretch could fill the tent LtoR THAT is. If I wait much longer it might get too long and grow slap up against sides of tent. Is my thinking reasonable or am I just whistling dixie???

I’ve never grown that so not sure on the stretch. Maybe @GreenJewels can point you to her journal as she has one going now.

Edit: never mind, she’s got a gcse going not wwe

Ok I made the decision to flip end of week. Gave 1st feeding today. 1/8 tsp open sesame, 1tsp each big bloom and grow big. (Well below recommended dose on chart)
TDS tap water…265
TDS after neuts…507
Ph…6.6
TDS of runoff. 1836

So what’s that tell me???

It says you had about 1300ppm still in your soil

Hey I had that right, maybe I get it… maybe not?? LOL the "target # " is??? I added lightly so would it want more or less by those readings???

You’re still in veg so you should be repeating week 4 of veg, on the schedule, until you flip to 12/12. But, you’re still high in overall ppm right now. Essentially if you’re putting in 1250ppm, you’ll want to see close to 1250ppm out. You were good at 1300ppm still in the soil. You could have still just went with plain water. So it’s real good you went real light on this feeding.

The thing the chart doesn’t take into account is the soils that are already loaded with nutrients. If you were in coco (there are no pre-loaded nutes in coco) you could follow the schedule, just as it’s written, starting from seedling.

Make sure when following the schedule to perform the scheduled flushes. You can probably skip the first one since you haven’t really added any of their nutes.

Yes I followed the 4th week , just went lite. Next feed will be only water then flip i figure mon. She seems to look good and she is smelling real good. I really appreciate the help.

@BobbyDigital, just noticed this morn. Spots on edge of leaves and light coloring in leif. WTF

This just popped up.BTW, MY WIFE THINKS THE GIRL LOOKS thirsty???

Looks as if that feeding pushed her over the edge. Was the 6.6ph in or out?

Ph was going in. Should I consider a flush with ph water? U thinking over feed?

Dont know if a factor as I didn’t shake the big bloom before adding

Always shake the nutes real good. Add one at a time and shake the water real good after adding each nute. You just watered so you’re going to want to let her dry out before doing anything. When she dries out, I’d run your normal amount of water to runoff and test both TDS and PH. Just because it’s 6.6 going in doesn’t mean it’s 6.6 coming out. If your TDS is high or PH is out of whack, she may need flushed. Which wouldn’t be a horrible thing as you’re about to flip so it’ll be good to start with a clean slate.

TDs and ph was fine going in yesterday. I’ve never had a ph out prob with FFOF so far at least.only put in 506 TDS and 1836 out

Should I remove the few leaves that are “burned looking spots” or just leave them

You’ll want to test the ph out each time you have a runoff sample. It can turn on you real quick especially once you start flowering. Come flower, you’re going to want to ph to the higher 6.8 range because ocean forest has always dipped down to around 6.1 in mid-late flower for me. You’ll also want to get some plain unscented Epsom salts for a magnesium supplement especially if running quantum boards.

That’s up to you. They won’t unburn themselves and removing them will make it easier to spot if it’s progressing

Went ahead and removed affected leaves and looked her over. No new leaves affected than yesterday, the rest of plant looked fine . Planes are to let her dry and water (in a day or so) with Ph’ed water. Then if no more issues go ahead and flip. When I do this water I will ck runoff again.

@BobbyDigital, @MrPeat. The leaves "look to me as a problem with potassium or magnesium but too much or too little???

As it accured less than 24hrs after 1st feed (very little) logic dictates too much??? But… doesn’t seem (next day) to be continuing.

Also whilst here, have always wondered when watering to runoff how much runoff should come out??? As a percentage of volume going in???

Nutrient excess can lock out micro nutrients which is why it appears as a magnesium deficiency. It should resolve itself once the ppms get back to a healthy range. For runoff I look for 1 1/2 solo cups worth which is about 20% of a gallon. I use a turkey baster to suck up the water. Once I fill a solo cup, I dump that out. I then suck up the rest which will be about 1/2 a solo cup worth and test that.

Ok I dont get that much out but i haven’t given much more than a 1/2 gal at once so far. That is going to change with next feed later today or tomorrow going to a gal. Will test before ,during and after LOL.

The last bit of runoff is the best representation of what’s in your soil.

That’s good to know. That’s my main weekness…technique… lots of reading knowledge very little technique. Thanks again and again and again!!

@Audiofreak I was going to say it’s one of three things. Nutrient burn, heat stress and or pH related damage. It looks to be in the very early stages so correction now and the plant shall bounce back.

My best advice is as soon as something seems wrong, ask and post info immediately. Marijuana plants are pretty resilient if caught early which looks to be your case.
