1st journal! 3rd grow, QB'S & FFOF soil w/ WWEF seeds

There’s calcidic lime which is like dolomite but doesn’t have the magnesium carbonate. Or pulverized oyster shell or powdered eggshell. But calcidic lime or dolomite are probably going to be the more readily available product locally. If you go that route, get powdered or liquid form; not hydrated or pelletized.

Thanks.

@BobbyDigital, any possibility that the mykos at transplant could cause this as it the only thing I’ve changed from previous grows???

I’ve used it in all of my grows without issue. It just helps build your root structure so the plant has better water and nutrient uptake due to more roots. It’s not a nutrient in itself.

Just trying to make sense of this.

Yeah it’s odd for the soil to acidify so early in the grow. Was thinking you were in cloth pots and maybe you had a lot of root air pruning going on but I see you’re in plastic. How big and is it completely drying out before watering?

5 gal plastic pots pre drilled on bottoms for drainage. As far as drying , I believe so as per weight and feel.

You can let her go to the point of telling you she wants water (leaves droop a little bit) then feel the weight of the pot to know for sure. Are you able to look into the drain holes and see her root structure?

I was worried I wasn’t giving her enough water. Max before problem was 1/2 gal every 2/3 days. Went up this week to get more runoff for testing. I’ll ck the holes for view of roots.

Couldn’t remove to ck holes, (tie downs). But…
I had a very nice conversation with cus. Care at FF. Very interested in my issues, even asked for picts which I sent. Within an hour heard back via email that their specialist’s feel it is a nutrient deficiency. Recomend I flush with Sledgehammer then follow up with Boomerang till plant improves and then start full dose of their neuts due in the appropriate week of grouth… HUH! LOL
@BobbyDigital

That is interesting with the amount of ppms still left in the soil but if the plant is locked out then a flush and a clean slate is where it’s at. Never dealt with the boomerang so I’d just follow their instructions on that. You got a recent pic of the plant?

Will take one and post

just took this. It ain’t getting better. Each time I water it seems to get worse. Hell I’ll flush, that ought a kill it for sure.LOL

Yep that’s magnesium which will be locked out at 5.8. Along with calcium and phosphorus. Remember to add in some calmag or epsom salt after flush. Unless that boomerang, they suggested, has a good source of calcium and magnesium.

Just did a slurry test as F F recommended. It came out with 1.1 ratio= 6.8 ph, and at 1.5 ratio it read 6.9 HUMMMMMM. @BobbyDigital

That’s a good ph. Where was the sample taken from and was distilled water used?

Had to use tap, ph ed to 6.8 (per instructions from FF. Sample taken from a couple inches from top of soil. Sent results to FF

Slurry samples should be taken as close to the root zone as possible and need to be mixed with distilled or RO water. Distilled and RO water take on the soils ph. Ph’d tap water adjusts the soil ph to what the water is. Scratching my head as to why fox farms would suggest ph’d tap water.

Just reread the instructions they do suggest distilled. I just have no choice right now.
At this point I’m probably just going to flush 5 gals and hope for the best.

Here’s the difference. Same bag of ocean forest, 1:1 ratio.

Tap water ph’d to 6.5

Distilled water
