I have searched for the information on the forum but not really a straight answer. Here goes I changed my flower room to a 14/10 light cycle because I was up to early and got home to late to be in the tent, and I didn’t want to cause any stress related Hermies again. Will I be okay I have been doing this for a few months now I guess it might be to late if any damage has come from it. I have both auto’s and photo’s growing in the same area they all look healthy. Any help or direction would be appreciated.
Good evening this is a good question. Let’s see if we can find someone who may know. @MeEasy @dbrn32
I’ve never seen a need to mess with established light cycles. If my plant light cycles got out of time with my life cycles I just push the plants light cycles around to match my life cycle and still maintain 20/4 for autos and 12/12 - 18/6 for photos.
I have my seedling veg area running18/6 with both Auto’s and Photo’s
then in 3-4 weeks I move them to the flower tent but thats running 14/10.
Wanting to make sure it wouldn’t effect them maybe I worry to much.
It really depends on the strain. Some of them flower fine on 14/10, but some of them really do prefer 12/12. If you have specific lighting, you can trick them into “waking” and “sleeping” faster and make the most of all 14 hrs.
I have a HGL650R that runs on a timer, I have numerous strains going and to be honest I have had it going this way for 3-4 months and everyone seems to be playing nicely. for some reason this popped into my head while driving trying to stay on top of it
Yeah, if they’re already flowering after being under that light schedule for a while, they’ll be fine. Sativas are the light sensitive ones iirc.
My strains are mostly Indica heavy but I have some Durban Poison thats 100 Savita’s I will watch them, actually they all seem to flower fine.
Thank you for the quick response this is a wonderful information hub
Outta likes but most certainly. Gotta have a few night owls round here
I wouldn’t make a habit of moving from 12/12 to 14/10. Some plants may deal fine but others wont. If you’re vegging on something like 18/6 and want to move to 14/10 and see if your plants flower there is no harm. I feel like most will, but maybe not all.
Once flowering is good practice not to increase lights on time. Decreasing or moving a small amount shouldn’t cause to many problems though.
I know theres some people do a 13/11 or a 11/13 cycles the content creator 420secne does this cycle of 11/13 or 13/11
Yes everyone starts in the 18/6 light schedule then when i move to the Flowering tent the cycle is 14/10 they all seem to be doing great but im still learning i guess when I was installing my new timer I started wondering if it was interfering with their progress.
Here is a Durban Poison transplanted to home pot 7/13 in the tent shes been in the flower tent for 2 weeks and is 31" tall and thriving
I dont know for 2 weeks in the tent the are doing pretty good my concern is would they be better back at 12/12.
As long as they flower i would say it’s doubtful there would be any noticeable difference.
