0_o Nanashi's first grow (with pics)

Everything in the man cave is 110 volt.
If I install a mini split it would be 220 volt

I’m looking for at least a 10000 watt generator that has the dual fuel option of liquid propane. I will most certainly look at the amps as well.

So you are saying you’re family runs on both sides of the fence?? I can’t lie I craped a brick when I read the cover of the book…

Get Ready for the Nerdsplosion I have to get the cams up for project ā€œskr3w the EX one last time.ā€

So.

I have Blue Iris as the NVR software… The free version is almost the same as the full one…except it does one cam (full version does…60~something cameras? and is like $50-$70 for life time use and like a year of upgrades, depending on if you look for a link or discount code or what have you.)

I have a 8 port POE switch (new and already driving me crazy…imma put this thing in a dishwasher time out if it don’t straighten up 0_o)

And various cams.

A Wifi PTZ cam from sv3c…or s3vc… too cold to go check…(uncle google will know what your talking about anyway, for those who check for it.)

a LOOKCCTV bullet cam (VERRY shady chineseium camera You need to either know how to keep a cam in its own darn sandbox or just spend a few extra dollars and buy a reputable name ONVIF (Generic will work with most things because they made there money selling you a camera not selling you an app and subscription for access to your camera…or selling other people access to your camera…is what ONVIF means In my dictionaryā€¦ā€œthe BIG dictionary of the deeply contrivedā€ā€¦the only one i know how to use lol))

And some LOOKCCTV PTZ dome cams that i need to send back because the command scripts are broken and im not ready to finish learning to write script…( i stopped at what the heck does writing script mean and why would i do it?.. that was enough for me for now.)

I am about to take stuff apart and clone windows (for posterity) and reinstall.
Then on to Blue Iris and… the network…Has anyone ever seen someone face palm so hard they make a god particle?
Im sure it is on the itinerary for the night so i will film it for you…oh wait i cant…BOOM There goes one now 0_o

I forgot about this…
Explain the use your hoping for out of this genni…Just temporary blackouts?

I have seen good things with generac genni’s…There ARE better/EXPENSIVE alternatives but im betting this is the area you will land in.

To have it take over when power goes out for the whole house it will have to be installed to to main line…and DO remember you WILL lose power still…the generator will turn on stabilize and then kick power on…at least 10-30 sec…i dunno.
If this is a problem then you will need a battery and inverter set up…at this point i suggest you take the genni money and put it in panels and batteries…I don’t think that price range will get you ā€œoff the gridā€ but will last for short outages and you can add to it down the line (with a little prior planing) as money is available until you are off the grid (still on the grid come on lets not get carried away but you wont be buying power unless you have a Quinceanera on Christmas

I want my man cave to have the capability to run as designed without power. I’m totally fine with coming out to start the genni. To keep me from feeling like a selfish a hole I want to make a small port in the wall with outlets so that she could survive inside somewhat comfortable. Lamps a tv ect

In no way am I even thinking about running the central heat air stove water heater ect. I can’t afford to get a whole home generator at all.

And we settled on 2000 call it 2500w?

  • tv / stereo…3000?.. and the house hole

Sweet so a 10000 watt will be more than enough for everyone to be happyish :grinning:
I’m not a true gentleman I’m just picking my battles lol.

If it is just about the room and minimum comfort i would call it a 6000w sustained generator.

the room gets half the house gets half

and save the money instead of going bigger.

Word to the wise…I have had 2 back surgeries (I think that was you who said you just had one…)…GET THE ELECTRIC START/ or keep that thing in one pull running condition. 0_o

i would use a manual safety switch (Dummy dont turn both on at once switch)

and if the power goes out Flip it (turn off house power and turn on the generator power all in one switch)
and just wire in a permanent set of outlets in the house…done…room and house outlets have power…(you can also run it into the breaker and turn the whole house on like it normally would be…just turn off the breakers to the BIG stuff IE central air / heat so that everything left on is small enough to run on the genni

Yes sir 1 month post surgery. I haven’t even pull started a lawn mower in over 5 year’s. Will be going with batterie start.
