Your Worst Cannabis Growing Disasters

I agree @the2409labs I look forward to taking care of my plants. I have had a lot of hobbies in my life but growing is by far the most enjoyable. I grow for my own use And it also takes care of the needs of my family . An we know what we are consuming.

I remember my first indoor hydro set up. A very crude ebb and flow using what info you could glean from high times (for the youngsters it was like a website printed on paper once a month) before YouTube. Several weeks in, going ok, my dogs got in the room and totally completely destroyed the plants. So I yanked everything. Still had the lights and everything set up with no plants. The next day the alarm went off when I wasn’t home. When I got home there were several cops in the house just looking around. So we’re standing there with the police looking at my grow room and me sweating bullets. They left and didn’t say a word. I remember staying up late just waiting for the door to get kicked in. They never came. To this day I don’t think the rookie cop had a clue what he was looking at.

What a story @h2oj28 that’s not sweating bullets that’s a heart attack. That is the very reason I don’t have a alarm system at my home. If it goes off the first people shows up is the fire department kick your door down and then here comes the cops.

Yes exactly. No more monitoring my house. Screw that shit

@h2oj28 and @kellydans - High Times magazine!!! Yaasss!! I couldn’t even get that in my town. I had to drive like 50 minutes away to a head shop to get it. Wow, giving me all the feels with this nostalgia!!
And in terms of Charlie knocking on the door : fuuuuuuuuuuuck that. Really, that constant fear is what finally convinced me to go legal. My grow back then was pretty extreme. I was renting almost an entire basement of this piece of shit warehouse at that time and it was getting really hard to keep it under wraps. Keeping the utility company from investigating the extreme power usage, the “security” men I had always sitting at the entrance, the water usage, etc., etc., I was always in a constant state of anxiety. Then one day I was walking from my car to my space in the morning and I heard a bunch of sirens coming my way and I literally froze in fear. I’ve never been so afraid in my damn life. I KNEW they were coming for me. With the amount I had and the setup I had back then down there, I’d probably have been given a life sentence.
But the cars all drove me without even a passing glance to some other emergency in some other part of town but it was the final straw. I was physically sick from constant fear so I said fuck it. Can’t take it anymore. Paying extra in taxes and fees is far more worth feeling like I’m having mini heart attacks all damn day.

Lol. I’m sorry. You thought about it so much you just knew it was for you. Thankfully it wasn’t. Good times hahaa
Unfortunately my state will be the last to legalize. And yes remember the gorgeous photography from high times. Be drooling like wow! We’ve definitely come a long way since then.

I used to use High Times as my bible. I remember it was High Times that taught me that there were thousands and thousands of different strains. For whatever reason, as a younger, inexperienced girl, I thought that weed was weed. There was “endoh” (indoor) and “outdoh” (outdoor) but I had no idea what that actually meant. I was like… whaaaaatttt??? Kush?!! Skunk?!! Jack Herer?!! Northern Lights!!!
My mind was blown and I was hooked!!

Me too! There were no names for weed then. If someone asked you may be like uh…Mexican redhair? Lmao
And yes I remember those cup winners. It was almost hard to look at without being jealous but utterly amazed. As they say if I knew then what I know now… I’d be a millionaire. Looks like you got your game on lock. Keep it up!

Growing for sale at dispensaries and clinics is cool but my ultimate goal is strain development and growing techniques.
But is there anything else on Earth better than growing cannabis?!! I’m having the time of my life over here!!!

@the2409labs,

Are your talking about the Lab ILGMs La

@garrigan62 - I’m talking about my lab. I own a commercial grow with my fiance and I run the lab. :slight_smile:

I’m with you, @h2oj28 I’m also in one of the unfriendly States. Hopefully within the next couple years the remaining States will get on board. I remember the compressed weed days more stems and seeds, we have moved forward in a good way. It has to be a good feeling. @the2409labs to not have to worry, Or stress over who may be watching you . I’m hoping in the near future I’ll be able to take down the sign that says beware of dog and put one up that says welcome to the flower garden. Happy growing to all

@kellydans. - my dude.
I’ve been waiting for that day since I was a young girl.
I long for the day that my kids can farm with me, learn the business as a youngin’, and learn to love and appreciate this plant the way kids do with backyard gardens without being threatened with jail time and losing custody.
One day…

Even after legalizing weed in Canada, it is unwise to talk about or advertise your grow. It would seem that some people prefer others do all the work and they just cut down the weed and run!
Perhaps there will come a day when people view cannabis like making wine or brewing beer, as I do, but until such time I prefer to keep unwanted out of my house and garden

I agree with you 100% @Cannabian I’ve always tried to live by the Golden Rule don’t tell. My wife asked me a few weeks back when the day comes when it is legal do you think you will tell anybody my answer was no the less people knows about you the better off you are.

@kellydans @Cannabian. True that!! Before I bitched out and got licensed (lol) I never told anyone. No-effin-body.
I told people I worked in a botanical laboratory on bucket orchids and Aconitum (Wolf’s Bane: an incredibly poisonous plant which was allegedly why no one could ever visit me at work. Lolol.)
Not just out of fear of legal ramifications but also so as not to make ourselves a target for robbery and the violence associated with it.
Isn’t it all just crazy?!!
