Yield - Zkittlez vs THC Bomb

For various reasons, I have prematurely harvested some buds. This is a Zkittlez that was top heavy and i performed an amputation.

I also harvested a real spindly freebie THC Bomb. I brought those big buds off the Zkittlez inside with the THC Bomb buds. No comparison, and most of the Zkittlez are still growing.

These two plants were started in soil on the same day. Exact same growing conditions…

Congrats on chop.

As for “why didn’t they yield the same?”

They could be the same strain and still have variances. Plants are different from seed to seed. Produce differently from seed to seed, and the smallest changes effect outcome.

I have two of the Zkittlez and they are both real similar. Both are big strong plants. I also have a GG that is strong plant. I dont think that particular variety is a strong producer compared to the other three plants. They were all started and cared for exactly the same way.

It is possible that this plant was not indicative of the variety. But, once bit, twice shy.

That’s how it goes. :call_me_hand:t3: some stay squat, some blow up, some produce, and some just show up! Lol. I usually run a dozen or better at once and there is usually variation all over. Some strains are pretty consistent between seeds but that can vary greatly.

Have a good day!

I disagree. I’ve grown all kinds of plants; from hybrids to heirlooms. The goal of seed producers is to produce seed that produces a uniform product. In this case, if both the THC Bomb, and the Zkittlez came from high quality seed, this one grow should demonstrate the uniformity. If there is a high degree of variability, in my opinion, that is seed to avoid.

I understand, and it def does depend on what generation of seed is being sold. F1 f2 f3 and so on.

I agree, the generation makes a big difference. If you have a good seed breeder, each successive generation should have improved traits. But, they should be uniformly distributed in the seed.

When I grew wheat, I would buy “Certified Seed.” from a seed grower. I would plant and harvest the “Certified,” seed and use it as seed in the crop fields the next year. All the wheat plants from the off spring of the "Certified, " seed, closely resembled the traits of the Certified seed. But, after that crop, the variation in genetics takes over after one generation.

This is a pic of a couple “Seedsman,” Zkittlez auto genetics. See how uniform the plants are growing, that’s a sign of good genetics. Especially since they are auto flower on week seven from seed. Very good autofower genetics too.

I have eight more of these seeds, so, I expect similar results.
