Yellow seedling

So, I finally got the chance to order some seed from ILGM. Great germination. 6 out of 6 seeds cracked, although 2 failed after germinating. The others looks good but the one seed came up out of the soil completely yellow. I don’t see how it could be nitrogen deficient, having just sprouted this morning, and I’ve only given them water once, at the time of planting. Anyone have any advice?

Oh wow, that is weird. What kind of medium are they in?

It is kinda funky… maybe she’s just a colorful girl? Haha maybe they sent you an overachieving “gold leaf”… sorry for my bad humor. Hope she greens up for ya.

Lmao I was thinking it’s just the pheno, but regardless, I’m going to let her ride til she dies lol

Im interested as well. Keep us updated on if she changes her shades or not.

I’m put off by the season long feeding part of that soil… isn’t it possible that the soil has nutes that make it hot for little one or am I way off base

Nm I see the others are doing well

Carry on

I definitely will!

Yeah, I don’t like that either, but it seems to be derived from all organic sources. But we’ll see how they do!

It’s the long season feeding and nutrients that are already in the soil more than likely. That can make things pretty tricky so that’s why we usually use soils made for cannabis or coco/Promix. The continuous feeding can cause issues especially in flower. Have you checked the soil ph? It could be out of range for cannabis as well. Let me know if I can help with anything else :call_me_hand:t3::v::bear:

I would say nutrient rich as well.

It’s not time released like miracle gro or anything. I figured being organic, it would be fine, but it may be a little hot. The other 3 are fine though, so it’s a little baffling lol
And I always ph the water to 6.5, but I do need to do a runoff test.

If the runoff test ppms and or ph come out high/low, I would just flush it real good and then supply your own nutrients. If it’s within range, you can ride it out through veg. Also, some plants will be fine grown in anything and others are just picky

I tested runoff yesterday, and it came out pretty low, 5.3. I didn’t think about taking a ppm reading though. I’ll do that today. However, I have been soaking some calcium carbonate in water overnight, and plan on incorporating that into the soil at some point soon. I have another bigger “skunk” seedling that’s planted in the same soil and has been growing somewhat slowly, that’ll get the same treatment as well.
She’s still just as yellow as yesterday.

So, would you recommend I use the lime, or just flush her with ph’d water?

Ppm reading came out high. Almost 900.

I would flush with 6.8ph water until you get the runoff ph up to at least 6.2. That might take a lot of water because of the time release nutrients, so be prepared for that

She doesn’t really appear to be growing yet. Her counterpart, who was given the same exact conditions, is lush green and growing nicely. I have a feeling it may just be the pheno.

Yeah. I’m thinking she lacks the chloroplasts necessary for growth. I don’t expect her to do much.
