Please help! Having yellowing issues with my seedlings

Desperately need some help. This is the third grow in the last 3 months that my seedlings have turned yellow on me and ended up dying. I have the proper nutes and I’ve tried 2 different types of soil. Ph on soil and water is where it needs to be. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong! Please, can anyone give me some pointers? Thank you in advance

Likely due to feeding. The plant is too young to feed and depending on what soil you are using, you won’t have to feed for weeks.

What soils have you tried? Some soils don’t get along with cannabis.

MG Organic raised bed soil. I know a lot of MG soils and cannabis don’t get along, but I had a few people tell me I shouldn’t have a problem with the one I got

I would avoid all MG products, including their other products like fertilizers. The company has had a rocky history with cannabis. Some growers get away with it. Most don’t, and MG soils certainly aren’t properly buffered for cannabis. Better choices would be Roots Organics, Black Magic, Coast of Maine, or a Fox Farm soil.

Well I did a 50/50 mix with just a cheap organic soil from Menards, which I’ve used before and never had any issues. Would that still cause issues?

It can. Soils from Menards are not properly buffered for cannabis either. I suggest using one of the soils listed above.

Check with @Hugh85 . I think he had a MG mix… maybe I’m stoned. Am I… why am I asking you?

Just for shits and giggles, check out @Dennis62 , he is one of very few that can grow beautiful cannabis in MG soil. He has developed a technique that works for him, I don’t have his kind of patience.

Nah I wont ever touch it again after having to transplant while in 3rd week of flowering. It screwed my plant up bad. Everyone warned me and I should have listened. Thank god several people on here helped me understand how I could do it and save it. Only got 35gs off it cured and dried and it wasnt the best smoking either, tasted nasty

I knew you had mentioned it. @Jpiper79 what are your pH numbers like and which meter are you using?

Hey @Jpiper79 I am not worried about the type of soil, I would like to know, did you pre moisten the soil?, when and how much water are you using, what is your watering practice? Would like to help, I will be following along

Ph levels are between 6 and 6.5. I don’t the manufacturer of it off hand, but it test soil Ph, alkalinity and dryness. I’m actually thinking that it might not be working right as of late. Because it reads the same thing for every plant whether the soils dry or wet lol. When it comes to watering, I usually wait til soils pretty dry, so like every 2 days I water them. And I’m giving them just enough to moisten the soil. They’re only 2 weeks old

This is what a two week olds should look like

I assume you are not watering properly, miracle grow new raised bed organic, has organic nutes and is not a hot medium, I don’t know about Menards cheap stuff but it doesn’t really matter, if you are not giving them enough water to thrive. I give exact instructions on how much and when to water, instructions for a seedling in bigger pot. I tell you in the beginning of each of my grows how. Search Dennis 62 grow # 22 or any # 7-22 . I will send you a tag to my current grow and you can scroll to the beginning and watch my process. I deal with miracle grow potting mix which is a hot medium with chemical nutrients and came up with this watering method, but this watering method can work with just about any soil type. Drying out too much is detrimental to plants, I never allow them to dry out, time to breathe YES, dry no. When water evaporates nutrient load concentrates, burning seedlings, plants need moisture to dilute the nute load. Are your plants photos or autos? If they are autos the stress may have screwed them up, photos with starting them drinking properly they could turn around. I would start with a 16oz cup of water to wet close around and below the plants, then a few days to breathe before watering again, then water to the size of the plant, I explain that at the beginning of each grow. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Let me know what you think my friend

I have 2 autos and 1 photo, which I’m assuming the autos are done. Thank you for the tips and I will definitely watch your videos.

Hey man! Sorry to bother you, but I’m having the same issues with this grow that I had with the last. I checked out the videos and posts you told me about and I’ve been following you watering schedule. But I got 2 outta my 4 plants that are yellowing and spotted leaves. I don’t know what else to do and anymore info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hey my friend, I am wondering what you are using for soil? When and how much water are you using? What kind of light are you using?I am definitely not a fan of peat pots they are problematic, I prefer to plant in final home pot, It’s simple plant seed and water properly, but there are so many types of soil and I need info, oh and how old are these newer ones? Let’s start with these 4 questions, I only have a little time today and I am going to be busy in a couple hours for the evening, hang in there brother I will see if I can figure something out :innocent: look forward to your answers

It’s an organic raised bed soil I get from Lowe’s. My first 3 successful grows I used the same dirt and had no issues like this. As far as watering, I’m doing 16 ounces per plant everyday 2 days, maybe 3. Lights are AGLEX LED lights
