The happy frog 5-5-5 isn’t optimal for flowering
Not sure about the other one

Cool, thanks guys. I can’t find that particular product on the Build A Bloom website. The topdress for bloom looks like it would also cover it.

I picked up this today, looks like a lotta good stuff in it. I plan on top dressing with it. Do yall see any reason it wouldn’t work?

The ladies just came off a 48 hr blackout, followed by a 12/12 lighting schedule. Flower is underway! I’m wondering if this yellowing is just new growth or a deficiency.

On a side note, I am starting a 2 week vacation, courtesy of The Rona. Spent the first day of Labor Day weekend working, ironically, and feeling like caca in the ER. Good times. But I already feel much better, though time will tell. I have no health issues that would complicate it and I’m not in a high risk age group. My parents are though, so all that fish & scrimp is just gonna have to stay in the freezer. No fish fry this weekend! Dammit!

I think that it’s the new growth, in my humble opinion :v:

Just new growth.

Any advice on more LST? I think all I did was lean them over. Should I do anything else or just let em go?

Depends on what you want to accomplish. Since I stopped tying mine down, I bend my branches sometimes daily :v:

Trying to accomplish maximum yield, I guess. When you say bend, like tucking or supercropping?

Actually just bending the branches/stalk over several times in several different places until it stays where I want it

I super crop the photos during stretch and to get them to grow into my net/trellis :+1: :v:

I gotcha. And the purpose of the net is to provide a framework to twist tie the plant to grow more horizontally, right? The idea is to tie them all down to an equal height?

Correct. That is my understanding and how I do it :+1: :v:

Ok, I have heard pretty much all experienced growers use the SoG method, so it must be seriously beneficial. Do you think it’s too late to set mine up that way?

Depends on how much longer you intend on vegging. Even then may be beneficial for stretch if you are close to flipping to 12/12 :v:

I actually switched to 12/12 yesterday

Ok ladies and gentlemen, I think I may try the SoG technique. The grow guide on ILGM for SoG was rather vague, as far as actual steps, and mentioned it was for starting on younger plants. It also said it was not necessarily right for sativas, of which I have 3. They have been topped. They’re about 2’, as is my Gelato. So I guess I have a few questions for anyone who has experience they are willing to share.

  1. Is it too late to lay down a net and get benefits from SoG? 12/12 started 3 days ago.
  2. How high above pots should I set the the net?
  3. Dimensions of grid? 4"x4", 5"x5"?
  4. Any advice on technique, what to tie down, what not to, etc.
I know 2x4 is not ideal for 4 plants, but it’s all I have to work with this round.
I’m gonna tag some guys I’ve seen on here for advice. I don’t mean to bother yall, but I’ve read through years of grow journals and have much respect for their skills. You guys have been awesome so far, help me through the home stretch please!

Sog (sea of green) is where you have several small plants creating a sea of green. Scrog (screen of green) is where you utilize a net to spread out the canopy.

You’re passed your window for scrog to be used properly. You veg into the net and spread the plant out as it grows through the net. Once you fill 60-70% of the net you flip to flower and the stretch will fill the rest of the net. Putting a net on her now will just give her a support system when she’s building buds.

I’ve been reading all morning, kinda got that impression. Plus I’ve wasted the last hour breaking too much of my wife’s craft string. I think I’m just gonna clip and string to tie down for an even canopy.
