What’s the ratio you’re applying and does the type of milk matter?
Thanks very much! Her final blossom fell a couple of weeks ago, so she had a great run this year.
I dont think he is on the site anymore. But if you press the magnifying glass at the top of screen you can search milk, I am sure there are hundreds of threads
He isn’t, he got booted. I witnessed it and it was rather shocking, given the generally polite and pleasant conversation that goes on here. He wasn’t being either polite nor pleasant.
If @Mark0427 has a free moment, he’s got a good recipe for the rice/milk bacteria tea concoction.
Ill leave this alone after one question. Was he directing it towards another member or towards the forum in general?
It’s been so long since it happened, that I forget all the details, but he was being argumentative with other growers.
This is going to sound super ignorant, but wouldn’t anything with milk stink to high heaven?
Quite probably. It’s actually a way to breed lactobacillus, as far as I understand it. The carbs in the rice water feed the microbes in the milk. You end up removing the “rotten milk” part of it somewhere in the process but yeah, I think it’s smelly as all get out during the removal of the remnants of the milk product.
Actually off milk and honey is a great fertilizer so i have found out from a friend he has been using milk and honey for ages and he gets great yields and great tasting buds
Yes I do I use 3 cups of milk and quarter to 3/8 cup of rice water wash. Whole milk works best I use regular homo milk seems to work better than the organic stuff I’ve tried. Can add like a quarter cup of molasses to the batch after seperates to feed the little suckers but it’s not necessary. It can be stored in fridge to last longer and keep them living. It’s simple to do I use half gallon ball jars 3 cups milk quarter cup of rice water wash I put like a third of a 1 cup measuring cup with white rice not instant shit either lol but a 1 cup measuring cup third filled with rice grain the I top that off with hott water and stir every 5 to 10 mins to get the starch off rice when that’s cooled down not hot warms ok strain the rice water only no rice into the 3cuos of milk stir good and cover it with napkins and a rubber band to hold on. Leave it set in a hot spot about 80 degrees for 3 days to a month if u want once fully seperates u can strain out the curds and keep the whey curds can be composted or pitched even make cheese out of it I hear from some videos which I won’t ever do but to each their own eeh. Hope this will help. Molasses is not a must especially if u feed sugars already to the plant may cause an issue. If I use molasses in the .ix which usually I do I don’t use any other sugars like bud candy or anything like it as the molasses will take the spot of the sugars
Ty @Graysin for the tag. It weird seeing a tag on here now as it’s been a long while seeing them here. Lol.
@Mark0427 does it matter if you leave the jar of milk and rice water in light? Or should it be dark? Just stumbled on this and am whipping up a batch now
I kinda like how this topic morphed into a new way to introduce natural soil conditioning. This site is pretty cool. Been 4 or 5 months since I posted the original topic.
I hope this keeps up.
I’ve been adding like 1fl oz of probiotic gut drinks that you get at the grocery store, per gallon of water for my teas. Not Yakult, but offbrand. They’re full of lactobacillus, but I want to make my own that I can keep in the fridge. It’s $1 for a 5pk of the drinks, so it’s not a waste since I drink the rest and my kids love them too. But I add half of one to a gallon of water, 2 tablespoons unlsulfured molasses, 5ml liquid fish and seaweed, and a tablespoon of Earth Dust Boost. Doing it every two weeks. Wife asked if I’m making yogurt just a while ago
I’ve done it both ways in dark and light and it don’t seem to make a difference to me. Seems to do the same exact. I’m sure light does degrade some parts of it but no I’ll effects from it so far. So either way. First run I did in all dark. After that was in the tent with lights on just kept in a corner behind pots where it was y in the direct light just on the side like bottom buds on a plant will be lit but nothing enough to make a good bud. Lol
Awesome man, thanks. You said 80ish degress in the recipe post so I just stuck it in a shadier spot on my back porch. Shouldn’t get too much warmer than that. How much do you use at a time? I’ve got an 5 gallon organic grow.
I just splash it in I don’t measure it. It’s made cheap and don’t seem to harm my plants the warmer the spot the faster everything will happen and seperate but at 80ish it too 4 to 5 days I had it seperates and good but left it a couple more days to see. Don’t fill the jar lol. Hopefully I didn’t as it will expand a bit and leak out and it don’t spell great but nothing like fish shit.
Ya mine is already seperated pretty well. I’m going to give it until Friday and drop some on my Earth Dust grow outside
So whatcha thing of the lab serum??? Makes my plants grow better to my eye when using it.
The one plant I had left for the last few weeks after making the LAB got clobbered twice with rain. First one slowed her, second haulted her completely, so I haven’t been able to really use it for a full run. I have threeish week old autos going that i was actually going to give a little of today, also have 2 super silver haze babies I’m waiting to get well established before introducing.
