That would work but plug the unused holes. Light in water equals algae. And make sure to transfer them before the roots get to long. Don’t want the roots to tangle up. And I’m assuming you have a air pump and air stones for that bucket correct?
Looks like a solid plan. Just remember lots of aeration in the water and cooler temps if possible. If not you’ll end up with root rot.
@DoobieNoobie was going to put 2 large air stones per bucket. I wanted to but these water chillers off Amazon for my buckets but the are sold out
Those might work. I thought about trying something similar but they’ll only cool a few degrees. Like 10 probably max.
@DoobieNoobie yea it’s about 10 degrees in 6 gallons of water. My buckets are a little less than 2

@DoobieNoobie was just reading on the probe. It will drop 10 gallons of water about 8 degrees. Also the is a review on there where person is using with his DWC. He uses a 5 gallon cooler as his bucket. He says his temps are in the 40s with a tent temp of 78 degrees

@DoobieNoobie how long do you soak your rock wool?
Just a few minutes. I usually soak them then squeeze most out then soak again for 15 minutes or so then gently squeeze about half the water out and call it good. But I soak in ph’d water with a few drops of rapid start and a cap full of h202.

I leave them on but I do it in a room that has a plant in veg right now. And last one was winter so I needed the heat from them.
I have a heat mat. But my pplan was to germ with the lights on the schedule 20 on 4 off. Put my QB on the lowest setting which I think is 65 watts 18 inches above the station @DoobieNoobie. But after I drop the seed in the Rockwool I was going to put it in the 3 inch basket with the green collar on
Yeah there’s nothing wrong with leaving the lights on. Especially set low like that. Just watch them once they come up if you start seeing them growing to tall turn the light up a little at a time.
@WickedAle @Shatter @DoobieNoobie will red light inside the tent affect an auto. Like turn it hermy? Cause I was going to put my humidity controller in the tent
Put a piece of tape over the light.
@WickedAle I’ll just put it on the outside. Red light is the only light that can do that?
I honestly don’t know if it will have an effect. I just wouldn’t trust it since the plant does respond to red in flower.
