From a fellow grower: Super skunk, feminized, indoor,soil, 6.5 to 7., General hydro, 1000hps,78 day and 65 night, great vent, basement grow, no humidifier,2 de- humidifiers, no CO2. The plant is extremely healthy, it does smell but not skunky,

Possibly not enough sulfur in her diet , rub the stem right below a bud then smell your fingers and that’ll be closer to what the terps will end up being.

My last grow was super skunk and I did not get a skunk smell
More of a bubblegum sweet smell and not very loud.

I tried not to do this again today 
Been chasing the skunk of old 80’s 90"s for years. This year I grew super skunk in hopes…nope. Since then I’ve been told it’s skunk #1 I’m looking for
Anywho, in all my search’s of different seed banks I have found some to be truthful that some skunk strains don’t smell like skunk and have a citrus smell…I dunno about that either…
First year ever ordering seeds, always grew from bag seed. I do know once I had the plant i want now. It stunk like a skunk from 30 yards away. Even when dried and double bagged there was no hiding the smell and that taste 
Next year I’mma try skunk #1 … but I’m not counting on it being the same…

I bet if you grew 10 Skunk #1s from seed you would find the pheno you are somewhat looking for. Maybe

I’ll be buying every skunk #1 from every breeder / seed bank I can get. Though at this point my hopes are not to high.
I think if it still exists someone would be growing it. I’ve been asking my guys for years for some skunk. Now I’m specifically asking them for skunk #1 … Nothing yet…

True north. Sensi seeds and dutch passion all have skunk #1 true north is 12 and change for 1 seed up to 25 seeds didn’t look at prices at other 2 but they all 3 have skunk 1

I had the super skunk and mine didnt smell that skunky it had a good smell but not that strong it was only after it dried and cured it smelt better

Smell was not what expected but the smoke was pretty good
I just chopped a Jack herrer and she smells super dank and super frosty slot more than I expected,turned out to be a strain that I will definitely keep growing

I am disappointed myself. I am currently getting ready to harvest Super Skunk Auto from ILGM and there is no skunk smell at all. I too was chasing the skunk of the 80’s smell.
These plants have no resemblance of Skunk weed, they are pretty but not skunky.
I have recently read that the smell was bred out because of the law and crooks. Let’s continue to get these laws changed and get tuff on crooks who want to steal our crops.
Let’s breed the skunkiness back into skunk. If we don’t it aint skunk call it bunk or whatevever but no one should call this skunk if it is missing original skunk traits. I also had skunk No. 1 from a dispensary. I saw the menu and noticed skunk no. 1 on it. I raved about this weed to my neighbor and told him war stories about the skunk of the 80’s. When I opened the container, no skunk smell at all. Even the effects were depleted and I was disappointed and embarrassed for pumping up a strain with no idea that it had been ruined!
As you probably can tell I am a 80’s skunk junky. Sam where you at bring my skunk back

Good luck, I’ve been chasing this one for a while. Years ago back in the 70’s, 80’s the skunk smelled, and even stronger when smoking it. Not any more. The wizards bread all that out. I’ve been growing my own for a long time, and you can’t find Skunk, like it used to be.
I’ve tried skunk from numerous breeders, and don’t believe I’ll ever find the Skunk that I remember from the 80’s. That stuff smelled strong while growing, and even stronger when smoking it. Can’t be found, believe me. You’ll be wasting your time and money on what they call Skunk #1

If u can find any look for cheese quake seeds. Made originally by subcool if u find the strain in a pack thatvleans more toward the skunk side its killer ass smoke its a bit cheesy but skunky and qas one of the best strains ive smoked this was roughly 10 to 12 years back a buffys friend grew it and sold and it was killer bud. I have some older seeds im gon a soon drop in hopes they do me good. If i find a sweet male and a good fem ill make a seed run with them

My thoughts on the skunk versus no smell versus smell are this. Back in the 90s and late 80s when skunk was a thing, and I was there, the best skunk was lime green and smelling as hell. I was living in North Carolina which was kind of skunk Central for the country and can tell you that the best skunk was either grown in the mountains or it was grown in the tobacco fields. Those people usually just walked out and planted their plants and ignored them until the end of the year when they had to go pick them back up and they got what they got . They didn’t fuss with them they didn’t mess with them they didn’t nute them they didn’t do anything to them except plant them and harvest them and I’m going to tell you what the best looking skunk was a lime green which to me screams nutrient deficiency lime green with curly leaves all these scream nutrient deficiency(specifically nitrogen) and modern Growers do not let plants get nutrient deprived. If you let your plants go without touching them I have a feeling that skunky smelling and assert will begin to assert itself I am currently running an experiment with authentic genetic seeds and I’ve got two skunk plants going and I’m going to tell you what I’m 6 weeks and a flowering and I am smelling skunk . I haven’t harvested so I can’t swear to God if that’s the way it’s going to turn out but it seems like my plants are turning lime green the leaves are yellowing and I am smelling skunk unremitting skunk and this is my second time actually attempting to grow the first time I actually used people’s advice and gave them nutrients when they look nutrient deficient they came out looking like regular sensamillia.
I havent smelled skunk in over 10-15 years. I dont think it exists anymore. Im convinced every company selling seeds labeled “skunk” are lying. If skunk still existed people would be growing it, not wishing it would come back. Ive never seen legal weed that smelled like skunk, and Ive definitely not smelled/smoked legal weed as potent as the skunk we used to get. You used to have to vacuum seal it to have any chance of hiding the smell, and you could probably still smell it outside the car trunk it was in. If a company sold skunk that was actually skunk they would be famous.
