Just wondering for anyone familiar with super skunk and it’s odor. I’m going into week 7 of flowering and I’m starting to notice a bit of a musty smell along with the super stinky skunk smell. My humidity stays between 30-50% and temps usually 65-80f. I’m scroging and have fans above and below as well as exhausting my tent outdoors. Watering only when the soil is dry and don’t see any visible signs of mold/mildew. Plants look super good otherwise, just wondering for those who have experience with this strain.
They look great. A hay smell is what I smell once in a while. If u can take a bud and open her up to check for mold? Let’s hope the smell gets yummy in a couple days
Yea. Hay describes it a bit better than mildew. I’ll poke around a bit but the damn things are like super glue right now.
Ok then. at least it’s not mold. keep an eye on the rh.
Hey they look amazing ive done super skunk i got a really skunky smell when i did one but no musty smell it was a fruity skunky smell
I would strip off some leaves to open them up. It is awfully tight quarters with not much space. I would imagine if you looked close when the light first come on you have moisture between overlapping leaves. This is because the transpiration has no place to go.
Makes sense. The smells definitely more noticeable at first light. I’ve got a few extra thick areas in there I’ll try to thin out a bit. I’ve realized three plants was a bit too much and think my next go around I’ll try to just train one to fill out my space. Thanks.
What type of nutes are running?
Plastic or fabric pots?
Are the pots sitting above the drip pan or in the drip pan with run off water?
FF trio for nutes, 5 gallon fabric pots sitting directly in saucers. The saucers never hold water for more than a couple minutes before the soil sucks it all up.
Have u flushed every 4 weeks?
Ive used ff and ran it straight thru no flush and gotten the whole anaerobic musty smell also. This is why ff recommends to run there flush every 4wks. It helps to raise the pots a few inches out the drip pan also. This will give u better airflow and prevent the soil frm going stagnate n smelly.
I haven’t done a dedicated flushing, I really just picked up the full FF trio schedule a couple weeks ago. Before that I was only feeding a diluted dose of tiger bloom every other watering due to fears of over feeding and lack of knowledge. My plants were showing signs of distress and thanks to the helpful people on here, figuring out my ph and checking ppm in my runoff I came to the conclusion my plants where hungry for nutes. This is my first indoor grow, had some good luck with autos outdoors last season. All a learning experience for me. I’ll definitely put something under my pots to promote better airflow next go around. Should I consider flushing this late into flowering? I picked up the full feeding schedule about three weeks ago. Friday will be the start of week 8 of flowering.
At week 8 of flower i would just let them go another week and do ur final flush of the 1-2 weeks depending if u run them out to finish at 9 or 10 weeks.
Going fwd to the ur next runs yes I would flush every 4 weeks and def get the pots up n out of the pans. The FF flush product is called sledgehammer. The idea is that ff basically gets hardened up with salt blockage at the roots. The flush will clean all that out keep the roots fresh so they can do there job nutrient uptake efficiently thru out the grow frm start to finish.
That is an awesome tent of beautiful flowers. I’m very happy there is no mold.
Yea I already picked up some sledgehammer. Next go around I’ll be sure to follow the schedule. Should I switch over to just water these last couple of weeks? Thanks for all the input.
Thanks. I’m pretty happy with it being my first time indoors. Buds are super dense and just getting fatter every day.
I’m out of likes
I usually flush 1-2 weeks. Depending on the strain = 9-10 week flowers.
If it were me considering all that u explained yes I would flush with just plain water and molasses.
