I was kinda hoping for a skunky aroma. Mabee it will come in the next few days. Or mabee the dry and cure will make it come out.
I find I become desensitized to the scent of the strains I’m growing. They have plenty of smell, I’m just overloaded by it.
That may be part of it. I spend a lot of time in my grow area lol
I grow white widow feminized and my veg tent is a QB light with a heater running. I open it up, and I get loaded with skunk smell in my face every day now, and they’re still going to veg another several week. My flower tent is HID, and the smell would come real strong some days and other days, I got nothing. I’m wondering if WW only puts off a strong skunk smell. If the environmental conditions are perfect for an odor to give off?
Today they are starting to get a smell but not skunky yet.
I found that with my white widow also. The smell kinda builds up in the tent. If I open after lights on. Big woosh of skunk. If I oIen 10 minutes later, hardly anything. They’re getting watered now. Later, in really gonna smell it. I also think using a 2x2 with a desk heater on constant helps keep the skunk odor strong.
I been having the same issue for past few months. I’ve grown several strains like Maui,Ghost Train,Skittles all I think have a wonderful fruity smell. However last 3 harvest every plant has had no smell even close to what is should be and they all just smell bland to somewhat musty. I use an organic grow recipe that worked awesome. Haven’t changed anything significantly. Like other posts, they looked great, smell crappy. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks
When I posted this 3 years ago I didn’t have a clue about Growin. And it got really funky in there later. I’ve heard some strains don’t smell at all. But I will tag a few experts to lend you a hand And welcome to the best place you can possibly be for Growin.
@Oldguy @Covertgrower @BobbyDigital @dbrn32
@MattyBear can y’all help this grower out? Thanks in advance for the help.
Something seems off if it’s the last 3 harvests. Too hot at the end of grow cycle? Bad drying conditions?
Possibly harvested early.
That’s what is aggravating. I haven’t change anything but…the heat and drying makes sense,I did move everything to different room in basement. I’ll start paying more attention to conditions outside the tent as well. Thank you much
@tsula i also been experiencing this issue … im in my 4th harvest … ive been growing blueberry & northern lights auto … its really weird… my blueberry doesn’t smell like anything growing unless u put your fingers on the stem or something … on the other hand the northern lights smell skunky growing and also smell a little when drying … trimmed them up & put in mason jars for cure both strands smell the exact same … no aroma … it has a smell that i cant put my fingers on but its not the smell im accustomed to when i buy my weed … i thought maybe it was cause it was fresh weed but thats not the case … usually when u open a jar of weed u will smell some kind of aroma … for me im getting nothing … smell it makes me hungry but thats it
Smell like hay thats the smell … please help anybody
That hay smell is chlorophyll in the plant. When dried and cured properly, it breaks down and goes away. Have you tried Grove bags yet?
@SeaOhAreWhy No i havent tried grove bags yetso my weed will smell just need to wait long … lol to me when i open the jar the hay smell gets stronger
I ran ilgm Black Widow photo last year and the smell wasn’t great until after cure. The smoke was amazing though wish I would have hidden some from myself
@DoneDeal @SeaOhAreWhy Ok lol mines don’t last all the way through cure but im trying to change way i consume … never had 1 cured more then 3 weeks … but thats my new experiment… i will cure longer to see … thanks
Start a perpetual grow if possible. Until I got my established I was in the same boat LoL . Sucked having good smoke running out then having to buy mids from a buddy .
a good problem to have, Growmie! I agree with @DoneDeal, perpetual grow time.
Curing is the worst…all that great bud just sitting there, waiting to be consumed LOL! If you can, stretch it to 4 and even better, 6 weeks for a good cure. Some bud takes even longer than that, which is a lot of burping. Try a few Grove bags on ur next run, youll likely never go back to glass
@SeaOhAreWhy ,Facts about the Grove Bags. I wouldn’t use jars now for anything. Yeah cheese auto is getting more funky by the day in cure🧀 .
