White Widow Woes

Hi there! I’m having a little trouble that I bet you guys can clear up for me. I have two 2x4x6 indoor tents, lit with MarsHydro TSL-2000s, as well as a 4” blower. I live in S. Florida, so I’m AC’d 24/7. The temps inside the tents range from 70-80 and hold steady about 45-50% RH. I use FFHF soil in fabric pots. Lights on 24/7 for now. I use the General Hydro Trio for feeding, using their chart. My White Widow babies are now 4 weeks old. But now I’m seeing bleached, dry leaves at the bottom, and it’s climbing up! It started with a few bleached spots only on bottom leaves. I water with pH 6.4-6.3 and I just checked my feed runoff and it’s 5.8-5.6! Can you save me? I’ll try to include photos…Processing: C6F0AA1A-FA9B-4D49-9267-7A43AD9661EC.jpeg…

Welcome to ILGM forum. Your pics didn’t finish up loading. Once you choose photos wait on clicking on reply until you see 100% next to reply button.

Thanks. Phone does it no problem, iPad not so much

A few more hints:These are photoperiod, feminized seeds from Robert. 5 gallon fabric pots. I use tap water (250ppm). With nutrients, 600-800ppm. Veg mode. What am I leaving out?

When you say you’re using the General Hydroponics chart, are you using the full amounts that they recommend, or do you use less?
Could be several things going on, but if you’re feeding the full amounts of nutrients on the feeding chart, that would be way too much.

Plants need a break each day like every living mammal. You should run 18/6. :+1:

I would run 18/6 with photoperiods. Also you’re target input pH should be 6 5 for soil. Are you watering till runoff when you water? It’s a good idea to do that to flush out any unused nutrients.

If I were you, I would flush with 4x the amount of water you normally give, pHed to 6.5. Then one more water with feed @ 6.5 pH. That should at least make sure your medium isn’t messed up. Then change your light schedule and you should be good. As far as those nutrients though, I don’t know specifics.

Okay, I have flushed with 6.5 water 4x normal amount. After, fed 600ppm solution of Gen Hydro nutes, with 2ml Calmag. We’ll see how it goes. BTW, my “normal” amount always results in runoff. I have also reset the timer for 18/6 as advised. Thanks for all the advice!
Update: I had been leaving runoff in the trays for the plant to absorb. I have been informed that’s a bad practice! I drained them immediately and have ordered pot lifters! Thanks for the tips!
This is my 4th grow, last time was Blue Dreams, and two plants yielded 420 grams (no kidding), cleaned and dried. So these tips should yield better results yet! That was grown the same way as the White Widows, so I can’t be far off.

Only 600 ppm? I feel like that’s a little low tbh. Is that reading with the dosage recommended from GH? Sorry I didn’t see this till today!

Well, today I fed and watered the Widows. This time I have pot elevators. Going in I had 6.5pH and 600ppm nutes, including calmag. Remember I flushed these two days ago. Coming out, I got 6.1pH and about 1000 ppm! So, what should I see in vs. out?

GH says 600-800 for this age

Ph of runoff isn’t going to be super accurate, but it’s still a way to get a general idea of if your pH is off I believe.

Is the problem getting worse today? Keep in mind old damaged leaves won’t be repaired, and you need to look at newer growth to see if it worked.

I don’t know enough beyond that basic advice though… I’m simply not experienced enough.

Any help here fellas?

PPMs in soil will usually be higher out than in. PH fluctuates but it has generally been lower out for me than in. No idea if that’s a rule of thumb but seems to be the case for me.

Thanks for the tag, man. I can’t say I know all that much.

But I am curious is the situation improved (or at least not progressing?)

See how it goes after the flush, seems they needed it.

Be sure to include the ppm of the tap water in that.

The Widows seem stable. The tops are still fresh, and we’ll have the wait and see about further yellowing. Watered today with 6.5pH water plus Calmag, got 6.3 out. Much better. So this was a pH issue you think? Wil pH cause this type of damage?

It sure can. pH being off will ultimately prevent the plant from absorbing any nutrients at all. So it can look exactly like a nutrient deficiency, because technically it is even though there are nutrients in the soil with it.
