Can I get an opinion from white widow growers or anyone who wants to chime in?
I think she is ready, but not for sure. This is my first grow. She is on day 61 of flowering and it’s been 12 days since I flushed her. I see clear, cloudy and a few amber. Not sure if I should wait for all clear trichs to turn cloudy or no. I am looking for a more energetic than couch lock. What would you do?
I only see amber on ‘sugar leaves’ can u get some of strictly buds? And she is very close to what u want. Keep those eyes peeld
Yeah, I wasn’t sure about the coloring. The buds themselves don’t have amber, those are the pics with clear trichs. Do you think I should trim all the yellow leaves off?
I would take the ones that are the yellowest and leave the rest. The plant is “eating itself” I would let it go another 5 days or so. When is the last time you watered?
Yup give em a light tug. If it pops off, she’s all the better for it. If its snug, let her finish her meal and try again in a few days
Awesome, thanks a bunch @PurpNGold74 and @HornHead. She’s fairly dry, I was holding off watering until I got some advice, and I am thrilled with how nice and helpful you all are here. She got ph’d water on Saturday. I think she needs more water if I’m going to wait a bit longer.
If the soil is bone dry I would give some water. But you want your soil dry when you harvest. It helps when you go to dry. Also I think I read somewhere that it helps push the plant to make more tricomes
Yup. The drier the air the frostier the trich productivity… or so ive read
Looks like you got some good advice. Your plant is mature and if not ready then almost there. Nice job!
I’ll tell you what…that is great news because it’s so crazy dry here. Our humidity stays around 20% and I usually have to water more frequently than what most people post here. Being my first grow, I researched the hell out of growing. I’m going to try an outdoor grow now. Just dropped seeds for gold leaf, strawberry cough, jack herer, and bubblegum.
@Myfriendis410, omg, I meant to tag you on this, I remember you had a fabulous white widow in your journal. You hooked me up with advice earlier as well as @PurpNGold74 and @HornHead and a bunch of other folks, and now I am finally here! I honestly would have effed this whole grow if I didn’t get that specific advice on my early ph problem. So, a million thanks to everyone who helps the noobs out here!!!
You are more than welcome. In time you will be able to pass it along and help others.
Yes, more than welcome sir. That’s what this wonderful community of growers is here for. The stupidest question is the one not asked
@jimi I’m growing a white widow auto and it’s been flowering since June 10 and the trichomes are clear. I’m interested in your outcome as they look similar to mine. Will you post your weight and dates. It will help as I’ve got another dozen seeds of them and I’m certain so does a bunch of other people. Thank you in advance
Well, to my complete surprise, she was a hermie. I had a humidifier in my tent and I didn’t know it was emitting a streak of light from inside the water tank. I think enough light leaked to turn white widow, which was a feminized seed too, into a hermie and the lower buds had what looked like swelled calyxes actually had seeds inside. There were also many pistils that had turned orange all over them. So, it was hard for me to tell. I was pretty stunned by that. Probably have about 50 seeds, but all the top buds and the cola are fine. Already smoked it and what developed on the top rocks! I will be happy with just getting that as it was my first. I didn’t weigh it yet, most is still drying, but I think it might be around 3-4 oz. Pretty sad for white widows potential, but I’ll take it and block that damn light for next time. Best of luck to you @Stonedagain2 I hope you do better!
Free seeds is free seeds! strong text
Sorry it done that but you got plenty of seed now. 3-4 oz isn’t bad for your first try. Mine is still got a couple of weeks but a lot can happen in that time so I wait until it’s time to chop. Let those seeds do what they are to do before they can be germinated and hit me up with your weight because I think it’s going to be more. Happy growing
Welcome to the ILGM forum.
Your plant looks really nice.
Depending upon where you are, mid to late October sounds about right for outdoors.
Rain and high humidity are not your friends, you will want to take measures to combat mold and what not.
I don’t grow outdoors so don’t have a good handle on how to do that. Perhaps @Myfriendis410 or @elheffe702 will have some ideas. The two things that I can think of is to rinse them once per week or so with H2O2 and protect them for getting rained on by putting up a temporary cover or moving them to under cover when rain is expected.
Hey @Xxjimbo4u, welcome to ILGM! Thanks for the tag @merlin44, but I can’t add much to what you already said. I’ve only grown indoors, as well. I know a little, but let’s see what @Myfriendis410 has to say. What is your latitude? That will be the biggest factor.
