Yeah that’s completely normal. They look good ![]()
Last question for the time being ha:
In what direction do i lst my plants? Towards the sun? Away? Or at an angle to it? And how low should i bend them? Also, worth lsting these autos at about 5.5 weeks old? Thanks
The sun moves throughout the day so you don’t need to LST them any certain direction. You can LST up through the first 2-3 weeks of flower usually. ![]()
How far do i bend them down ? And is it going to help these autos?
You can tie them off to your pot and start slow. A few inches at a time, then a few more the next day. You can shape the plant how you want it
What is the goal of lst? I dont understand what shape i should create to optimize bud production
Goal of LST is to break the apical dominance of the main stem. When you bend the main stem it allows the side shoots to catch up to the main cola creating a more even canopy and multiple colas vs having one main cola if you were to let her grow naturally
Dam i thought it was to allow sun light into the bottom leaves. On my big plants ive been bending all the branches down… pics to come
Hi @amosmoses, I think@MattyBear has explained it pretty well for you. You can use lst to do anything you want to your plant. The main growing tip on a plant contains auxins that stop any branches getting bigger than the main tip(apical dominance). If you bend the main tip lower than the side branches the auxins in the main tip disperse through the plant to all the branches letting them think that they are all main tips and they grow fatter accordingly. Its a great way to increase your yield, allows you to shape plants to your space and if done gradually does not stress the plant at all. There are really no downsides to lst .
Thank you for clarification. So sounds like i need to get the main stem lower than it is.
I accidentally supercropped a plant when the string got stuck in the axle. Its a ww auto. Put a bandaid on it
Gently does it , there is no rush
Autos going into preflower? Too late to lst them?
We have ten more on the way so i will prob just lst those
The “cart autos” were started a week early and still havent flowered so ive been lsting them.
Does this look right lol?
Forgot to mention that we made a compost tea to feed the big photos and topping it seemed to have worked!
Looking good, if you can get that top down a bit more over the next few days anything below that level will get a boost of auxins and start to power upwards… When the other branches begin to grow taller , tie them down as well. It will be a major contributer to a larger overall yield.
too late to start lst on the big autos?
the stems are strong and not very flexible.
Not a vet by anymeans. But yea. If the stem is non bending then probably not. Maybe just take one n tie and inch down from the top. Tomaro tight it a bit for 2 inchs. So on and so on. But definitely dont go TOO TENSE. Lst is not cropping
