I think I already have an issue with WPM. Over the last couple days my rh has come down from 70 to 40ish due to turning my fans on and temp is a little cooler as well. Today I went to FIM one of my plants and noticed white specs showing up on a few of them as seen in the photo. What is the best thing to do now?
The one other thing I can think of is Im running straight tap water in my humidifier which is very hard water. Could this be Calcium residue?
Looks like it. Are you using a cool mist humidifier?
@Khaos850 , I’m not sure if I’m remembering correctly, did you recently transplant these? If so how big were they in the solos?
@Deepsix is also getting to my other comment I think- if you’re running an ultrasonic or cool mist humidifier, they need distilled or RO water or you will foul your exhaust filter. That’s why I got an RO, my tap water was fine for the plants.
Im using one with the option of cool or warm.
I just unplugged it and turned it back on as I couldnt tell what it was set at. It is on cool now.
That was right before I transplanted.
I dont have my carbon filter hooked up yet on my exhaust. My RO system will be here Monday and I will start using that in it.
Im on my way to get distilled water right now to use in the mean time. I should also mention i recently had a decnt drop in rh the last two days since i turned my fans on.
Should i be wiping off the leaves?
I think that’s all it is, they got a little hungry in the solos, they’ll grow out of it. The damage might remain on the leaves, just keep in eye on the new growth.
After I switch my water in the humidifier just keep it on cool mist and keep an eye on the white mildew making sure it doesnt get any worse? You dont recommend getting whats on them off?
@Khaos850, I don’t think it’s mildew. You would be able to rub and smear it on the leaf if it was.
At the size they are, you can start bringing your RH down, you’re in the “veg” stage now if you refer to the VPD chart.
Thank you. Youre helpful as always!
that will do it and you will see it on the sock of the carbon filter
Im glad I had some great help and got it taken care of asap. Luckily I dont have my carbon filter on yet and I switched the humidifier out with distilled water a couple hours ago
its happened to me, I ran out of distilled water and used tap, and im was like wtf is going on, but someone posted right before i did and did the same thing, but it clogged my carbon fiter where it wasn’t working right.
I can’t believe how much crud build up in that short period of time using my tap water in the humidifier. Glad I stopped when I did. Its caked on one of my fans.
@BudzMS @CurrDogg420 @Deepsix
Your going to have fun cleaning that.
Yes I can’t wait. That fan is coming apart tomorrow. I can’t wait for this grow to be over already so everything can be wiped down.
its puts white dust everywhere
