I’m like a week away from harvest but i don’t know if i should start flushing when some trichomes are amber just how i prefer it or to start flushing prior to that so when its time to harvest some have turned amber by that time.
Does she need nutrients to turn the trichomes amber?
It is now well-established that flushing at harvest does nothing to improve smoke quality. Few growers flush any more unless it is necessary to address a pH or PPM problem.
Nutrients are required for a plant to conduct any process, including that of ripening flower. That said, a plant is done growing during the last weeks of flowering and nutrient and water demand will decrease at this stage.
7-10 days before harvest I will restrict nutrient inputs and allow the plant to consume its stored nutes as well as any still in the soil. Why pour in nutes she wont use when there are some already available in storage. I just give plain water, thats it.
I didnt know that was definitively disproven, I just know what works for me. I find flushing (nute restriction) the last week really helps the final product, in combination with other final steps.
Like budwashing and cureing. Nothing beats a good cure for taste and smooth smoking.
