This is my first run with autos and this one is 17 days from sprout. The first watering was 1oz around the base, second watering was 2oz. Nothing but spring water so far, and she is due for another watering. My question is with this watering should I start to fully saturate the 5 gallon pot or give her 4-5oz this time?
Not yet.
Gradually increase waterings over the next couple of weeks, but never water more than the plant is capable of drying out the pot in 2 to 3 days.
Water in a ring around the plant rather than at the stem base. It will encourage the roots to grow out in search of water.
Nice looking lady you gpt there. Nice work.
@FunkyGrower hey bud im a new time grower as well! What are yu using for soil? And im assuming yu haven’t started nutrients yet?
@Strategicways No nutes yet, I’ll be looking to add some around week 3 or 4. She is in a 5 gallon fabric pot filled with a mix of Fox Farm’s Ocean Forrest and FF’s Happy Frog with about 10tbsp of Gia Green 4-4-4 amended in. Good luck on your grow!!
I have 5 gallon fabric pots as well! With the same soil but I made the mistake and planted directly into FFOF lol and my other I planted in purple cow indicanja lol I should’ve did more research before planting! But this is what my grow looks like I’m only on day 6 tho! I sure hope they survive and don’t burn with all the nutes the soils have! Lol
I have never grown an auto flower.
I see a lot of discussion about them…
Does the soil have to be special?
I mean different than my outside soil I make up.
Your plants look very robust.
This is my first grow. I started some photos a couple months ago, put them in Ocean Forrest and over watered them so it stunted them pretty badly. I figured I would take what I’ve learned so far and play around with some autos and let the photos veg until the autos are done. Once I got the watering by weight/feel down and left them alone they started coming back really well.
This is my first run with autos, and my first photos are about two months along. As far as soil I’ve heard living soil is great with autos, but I’ve been having luck with Fox Farms for these.
This forum has A LOT of good information on autos along with some journals of others grows.
Most definitely well I’m sure going to find out lol seems to be doin well so far! Good luck with the photos tho bro! Yu seem to have a game plan! I figured I would master autos before tryin photos! It’s probably a good thing yu have both goin same time tho! More of a learning experience!
Start a new thread as a grow journal for your grow. Post pics, regular updates, and all of your questions in your grow thread. It will be an easy way to have everything one place where you can go to get what you need. The experienced growers hear have decades of collective experience and we enjoy helping new growers. There isn’t a problem you might have that we can’t solve or otherwise provide guidance on.
@FunkyGrower You too. We’ll help you guys along the way.
@MidwestGuy how do I start a grow journal? Like yu mean like start a new topic? I’m sorry bud I’m clueless when it comes to this lmao
At this stage, a lot of growers prefer to place a clear dome that has been misted inside over the top thus creating a minature greenhouse. Seedlings get their water through their leaves while waiting for their roots to develop.
My autos at 14 days from sprout
Looking good Grow Bro, looks like it’s transplant time
@PhatPat
Looking good man.
Its in a 5 gal pot now. Do you think i should go bigger?
@OGIncognito msg above
Sorry @Strat3gic-grOwer-420 wasn’t trying to hijack your thread. Hope your girls are coming along strong.
@PhatPat all love bro do ur thing!
Just a couple things I would like to mention, you took ocean forest and happy frog which is an amended soil and amended more. This is going to be a very hot soil. Do not let the soil dry to much in between watering. Organics don’t do well with dry backs, it kills the bacteria.
Don’t water to runoff unless you are checking PH or having issues. Try to find a happy balance of just moist enough.
