When should i flip to 12/12?

I know autos do their thing on their own. Ive been doing 18/6 at 50-60% intensity and i can clearly see that i hit preflower/week 1 flower. Go me for getting here!

Should i flip to 12/12 or keep it at 18/6?

Sorry for the dumb question, first time growing a autoflower.

Autos should always stay on 18/6 or 20/4…never 12/12.

Good to know. Thank you for that! Wasnt to sure on it.

I have seen some weird setups like 6/2 throughout the day on three cycles on/off but never really interacted or spoke to anyone on it.

Intensity level increase aids in more bud growth then with auto correct? Bumped it to 70% for this phase but kinda second guessing myself.

I tried an auto at 12/12 once and it was garbage. I just ran these two at 20/4, they turned out spot on. Kicking up the lights now would be fine if heat isn’t an issue.

Damn good showing there! Easily from the looks of that qould be 12-16oz just from eyeballing.

Midwest has been so hot lately. I run a tent in my garage with extra air flow but at times get temps up to low to mid 90s.

Ive got my light cycle kick off from 12-6pm at the moment for that to help on high end times.

Run 60% humidity 24 hours as well.

Ive ran autos 12/12 and 18/6. My larger autos actually came from my flower room…

@ChittyChittyBangin I feel like you’re a far more accomplished grower than us. I’m just sharing what worked for me as an amateur🤘.

:rofl::rofl::rofl: nah man, im a newbie when growing autos. I just throw a few in with my photo grows for a little variation. Some will go 18/6 and some will stay in the flower room with 12/12.

@Scratchy LOL, mine was absolute shit, nobody would smoke it, I ended up tossing 2oz. on the fire pit and stinking up the entire neighborhood…granted, it was my first auto attempt.

You can keep them on 18/6 and go 12/12 late in flower. I’ve grown autos on 18/6, 12/12 and 6/2. I’ll cut back the lighting hours in flower if I start seeing foxtails or the temps get too high :love_you_gesture:

Auto gelato on 12/12 from start of flower

@OGIncognito thank you for the input! Especially the 6/2 aspect and knowing its viable and is used with success.

Foxtail can you give me an idea of what this is or ways to see this or causes this? Never experienced this at all.

Umm. I know I haven’t been around for awhile. Nor am I an expert on autos. But the amount of hours you give an auto is surely still based on DLI. Meaning it depends on how bright your light it. You give it as much light as it should require. Based on how small your plants are I would imagine you were never meeting DLI and have a small light. You’d probably be best keeping them on a 16/8. That’s why the main sight says newbies should try auto. Lack of DLI. But honestly photoperiod is easiest if you actually bought the proper equipment.

ETA I’d also check your VPD.

Actually my first auto because every one Ive seen is small , I think i just got lucky got the seeds from blimburn.

@Budz im using a SF2000. Not seeing a VPD just PPD.

I also have additional supplemental lighting on the sides (AC Infinity LM301H Ionbeam S11 full spectrum) as well.
