Just started curing my first harvest about a 1.5 weeks ago. They were pretty dense and sticky when I harvested but now they’re just dry?
I dried for 5 days in 70F 45-50% until small stems snapped (wanted them to be under dry rather than over) and they’re just crisp to the touch it seems. If I squeeze them, they kinda take shape but no crazy stickiness? Does this come after curing? Talking about that sticky icky weed where ya gotta wash your hands… they aren’t crumbling dry, the stay together but just wondering.
I have hygrometers in the jars and they’re at 65% and burping 2x daily.

If you want them sticky, you gotta dry a little less. Wet a couple qtips and it should help with moisture

And put them in the jars with em?
65 is still moist and by adding more moisture you risk mold. 62 and below is suggested.

I’ve had this happen with my bubblegum. My green crack has a nice stickiness to it and both were dried the same. So would drying in 55% humidity be better?

Yea I burp for quite a while, it’s not always that high though just highest I’ve seen it. They’re usually at 63ish first thing in the morning when I burp. I take em out of the jars during some burps.

The first time I dried I used the wedryer so this time I am just doing the old fashioned hang dry and left some sugar leaves on in the unused tent. Humidity is around 53 in there so we will see if it makes a difference versus the wedryer.

I hung mine by the stems in the tent. I would think that if u slowed the dry down ur cure will come along. I’m thinking this time I’m going to hang the whole plant for 2 days then trim to branches and trim the buds up 90%

I think your flower is too dry if small stems snap during the drying cycle. Drying too quickly will reduce the sticky feel but what I notice on “sticky” dried bud is trichomes transferring to my fingers with a kind of grains of sugar or granular feel that almost immediately becomes sticky. That may be a function of how the flower was handled or how cured or something else entirely. Some flower just doesn’t feel like that. My Sour Diesel doesn’t, for example.

Everyone does this 70degrees n 50%rh or less then wonders why its dry or grassy smelling
I tried those numbers. 60/60 is where its at with ac and airflow takes about a week to hit jars. Then i leave in jar checking daily if it feels moist again i sit it out an hour or 2.

When should I pull them to put in jars? Everyone I see says wait for the small stems to snap but the big still pliable.
I’ll give this a whirl next grow if hanging doesn’t achieve what I am looking for… gotta invest in an AC though because I have central and 60 is way too cold for my liking ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/grin.png?v=12)
