Why are my buds not sticky?

Hello, I am still new to this, and just completed my 3rd grow, This one was by far the best. This grow I had improved on many areas, Bud structure, yield, no deficiencies, longer drying time, temperature wand humidity were on point and despite good trichome production the buds are not sticky. I’m trying to find the culprit as this has been an issue. It seems to happen in late flower… I notice the buds lose some smell and the resin seems to dry up. After dry and cure the buds have a good smell, loaded with trichomes, but just lack that sticky goodness I want.

I’m wondering if it’s me, I do have a bad habit of touching and smelling in flower, but I did limit this to sugar leaves with this grow. I’m also wondering if my loupe isn’t powerful enough to show trichomes clearly and I’m harvesting to late? I cut the plant down on day 82 this harvest. Any one else gone through this problem?

Plant type - Mimosa cake, auto flower.
Grow type - Indoor, LED in soil.

Some good looking buds! I wouldn’t stress it.
Have you cured it at the proper humidity?

I put them in the jar, humidity was 68% so I kept the jar open, and have burped down to 62% . They have only been in the jar for 8 days, but I know that as they dry wont help my situation.

Thank you, I am proud of this grow, and they do look nice. I just want to make the same mistake next time.

You for sure did a great job and should be proud!

I wouldn’t take stickiness or lack of as a mistake, different strains and even cultivars will have differences. Some will even be greasy or waxy, some strains on the exhale will leave that buttery greasy feeling behind, almost like microwaved popcorn lol.

Don’t take it as you did anything wrong, just keep growing different strains and see how much difference there are and that’s the beauty of cannabis cultivation!

These are purple haze buds, is this bud rot? I’m afraid it is, but need confirmation

I’m by no means the authority on this, but I don’t see any evidence of bud rot from these pics at all… Break that bud open and see if it’s Brown inside. What part specifically are you referring too?

It has a brown color all though it. I had to cut about 2-3 weeks early because of weather. There wasn’t any sign of powder mildew when I chopped it. It is still extremely strong smelling and very sticky, but I still have my doubts. Any other thoughts?

“Bown color all through it” does not sound good." But like I said, I’m pretty new , so hopefully one of the more experienced members could help. Good luck brother.

R they autos or photos I notice a huge difference between the 2 especially when it comes to pressing the 2 flowers. Autos I get small small returns pressing where as a photo I get like 17 to 23ish percent return same dryness and all. Photos on the jars stick together like crazy and autos seem to stay dry feeling not sticky at all but look nice under a scope

I’ve only grown auto flowers so far. I have a friend who just kills it every time with the trichomes and stickyness. Of course he has been growing for a decade so I’m sure he ran into his share of disappointments, and now corrected them.

I was thinking about a photo grow next time. . I surely would like the control of when my plants begin flower. Are the light leaks a problem? Any other problems I might run into with photo grow?

It doesn’t look promising imo, was this an outdoor grow?

Hi.
Not an expert but, have had an issue with bud rot last three years.
I find it shows up isolated, with a dead brown leaf in the bud overnight. When you bend the bud you would see the rot inside.
It starts brown on my plants.

If the discoloration in the bud is isolated in a specific spot. Its probably bud rot. If its everywhere, its probably a characteristic from your strain.

It was an outdoor grow and it was a photo.
