I have four GG Autos started in 5 gallon fabric pots. The seeds broke dirt about a week ago, and the seedlings are producing their beginning serrated leaves. So far, they have been indoors, in tents, with LED lighting. I’m new to growing outdoors, and in MI, so it’s legal, but also hitting 80+ degrees lately. I have them in humidity domes now, should I remove them if I take them outside now? Typing after toking is a challenge. Dad always told me to take typing in high school, I thought he was nuts. My bad. Back to topic, any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
@SteveC hey Steve! Your seedlings are very delicate at this phase so field trips for short durations only, closely monitored and be careful of direct light. Mother Nature takes some getting used to. Hardening. Good luck!
Please don’t drink and drive or type and toke! I’d say lol but I hate that.
Yea I’d keep them in under some good light source till they get going. It’s getting much hotter and dryer now so inside you get more control, allowing a good start.
@beachglass congrats on the vmotm! That you are!
4+ nodes before I can trust survival. Sun, heat, rain, wind…yeah, they need to have shelter from too much of those things until they have established roots and a Worthy trunk (nodes indicate this strength).
Sudden changes are not a good idea. Ease them into the wild world.
@6stringT Thank you! Now, I pass the torch to…tomorrow. Thank you for all the help. I will try to keep the gifs coming.
I left my autos in a partial shade zone till the first two leaves ( not the seed leaf) had opened.
They spent this whole week out in full sun. Close to 90 a couple days. Seem happy. Gonna add some soil this weekend to shorten the stem. Then watch em grow.
Fist ilgm autos for me.
These I germinated inside, and stuck in the soil right outside. Been in direct sunlight for about 4 days now.
Unsure how they will turn out, but you don’t know til you try.
Are those 6 seedling growing there, how many gallons is that pot?
@SteveC. I would wait a little longer to put out for good. You should put them out each day starting for half hr then 45 min then hr next day and so on for at least a week or keep in a little shade not full sun it can stunt them or kill them i had one of my plants stunt bad because i didnt “harden” correctly.
Imagine if plants naturally grew outside…………
True… for “how” to get them outdoors (hardening). My statement was about “when” the timing was right.
@StankyDank239 are you planning on leaving all those seedlings in that 1 container?
Sorry I’ve been doing a lot of work in the yard to prep for tonight.
To answer you… no, I plan to leave them all in there. There’s a couple that don’t look too great, so I’ll yank those. I will divide the rest into their own containers.
Yes. It’s a 1gal. Yes, it’s a 1gal pot. They will be separated by Wednesday. Probably only keeping 4.
