oh great. so my bedroom. maybe it comes down again and i give it a shaking out. lordy.
If you have a small shop vac you can usually get majority of it.
yup bought one just for runoff… good call. this will be the third time i’ve disassembled
Sorry!!
better than black soot all over everything so really, thank you
I agree.
Has anyone ever refilled their carbon? Is it even possible? I haven’t dissected my filter yet but I’m curious to know if I could add fresh carbon to a filter body once the original is spent?
check out youtube. i actually saw a tutorial yesterday. it’s more than i can deal with right now but kinda bookmarked it in my head for the future. Vivosun said they wont recycle. i’m sick at how much waste this industry creates, would like to investigate further.
Thanks for that. My ipower will let me swap things around and change it from an exhaust filter to an intake filter so that got me thinking. And you are right about waste in this endeavor, I try to factor things like that into my purchasing decisions.
would be a hard movement to rally but i’d love to put some pressure on these guys and get them to take back the canisters.
Or at least make them refillable
And at the 8 week mark, I’m being told that my filter isn’t filtering. I’ll try reversing it and see what happens. In the mean time I guess I’ll start looking for a better filter.
I use a 40" mountain air and will replace it with another when it is time. it is about a year and a half old and still keeps 6 plants in flower from telling on me The one I have is not reversible though.
boo, sorry. i contacted vivosun and they refunded my money immediately.
I just sent ipower an email with all the pertinent information. The filter is supposed to have a one year warranty so I’m good as far as that goes. when I hear from them I will report back.
i have a really small 2x2 tent that i may have to toss some plants into. no way i can fit everything in there. can filters be on the terminal end outside the tent?
Yes, most filters can be used as intake or exhaust. Best to read the fine print though as I have seen a couple that weren’t. I’m also running a 2x2, 4’ in height.
As @LandShark said. Some filters are made so they can be run inside or out. Not all though. So you will want to make sure they can be. Mine has to be in the tent. it would have been nice now to have it on the out side for the same reason as you @Agrestic
good call. just checked and the Vivosuns can be used as an exhaust. i still have another cheap 4" and will use it until it poops out.
This is my intent also. My filter and in line fan will both be outside of my tent. My way of thinking the less in my tent the better.
