Whats the longest a auto has taken?

Well doing the same thing all a long to be honest to a bout 2 weeks a go i do hang the light vertical for one day then back to horizontal the next day was reading bout topping a auto flower but was afraid id kill her would it be to late to top her

My autos usually finish in 12 weeks of flowering. From seed to harvest this means a total of 16 weeks. On all fairness I run all my plants at 12/12 start to finish.

Is that just 12 weeks of flowering

Yes…but 4 weeks before it flowers so seedling to harvest is 16 weeks.

Autos are gonna do their own thing when they feel like. Even within the same strain, you’ll still get anomalies and genetic variance.

I’m not advocating that you should do this, but personally if I had a plant like that I would 100% start over. That current light distance will produce pea to popcorn sized bud along the stalks, and maybe one decent central cola at the tippy top. For me, the input costs would greatly outweigh the output.

In your case, it’s really hard to tell if you should top or not. You’re technically at the seeds halfway point in life (8 weeks so far, about 16 from seed to finish give or take). I have an Amnesia Haze that’s only 40” and 14 weeks in flower alone, and that’s after stretch. I worry you’re going to run out of room, you haven’t even stretched yet.

Regardless, you definitely won’t kill a plant by topping it. I would recommend watching some videos on topping autos, and whether you feel like you should or not. It’s a hugely debated topic even to this day. Just don’t top once flower starts!!

Flower is determined by daylight hours not light spectrum.

I was thinking the same just to top it and start a new one and see what happens that way if it comes to nothing a new one might and no loss of keeping every thing on

Im running 18/6

As @OGIncognito mentioned switch to 12/12 light schedule is your best bet. Most autos will start flowering 4 to 7 weeks but you will occasionally get a stubborn one. Good luck

I have question of topic. So say for the winter if you have plants in veg can you put the the pipe from the extractor fan back in to the tent to keep the temp up so the heater isnt on as much. and use as a fan aswell havent tryed it but i was thinking would it help keep the temp up just. Or would it start mold

It will help with the temperature but you will also have positive pressure and odor will escape the tent.

:point_up_2: this would be caused by high RH and mainly a concern in flower

Sometimes a switch to 12/12 is all an auto needs to kick things into gear!

I just started a new grow journal, feel free to follow along if you do decide to start over. I am trying to document all the things I did wrong first run so new growers can see first hand.

You have it, I just think if you dial in the light situation and watering habits so you don’t get a beanpole next time. The plant is healthy, which is more than half the battle for a lot of people. On the other hand, your plant is all fan leaves. There’s simply nowhere for bud to grow.

I think even if you hold out, you’ll be lucky to get an ounce or two if things are perfect from here on out. Which if you’re ok with is totally fine! You just have to balance your own personal input and output costs and decide what’s right for you.

Still, keeping the plant as healthy as you have shows that there a lot of positives to take away away from this grow!

Would it be ok for veg doe if the side vent was left open

Think about controlling the temperature from the area you are pulling the fresh air from.

Yes, That would be fine with auto plants , photos need dark period to be lights out. Leaving the door open could Create problems with photo plants.
