What strain took you by surprise?

What strain or cultivars completely subverted your expectations, either in how they grew or how they smoked? For bettwr or for worse. Just looking to hear everyone’s memorable experiences and what you did! Did you keep a clone, trash it, or what?

Happy weekend yall
And happy growing

Strawberry cough i did not expect it to tripple in size during the stretch literally into the first 3 weeks of actually being in flower it was still stretching between the mother plant and the clones I got like 10 oz of some really good flower i actually still have some left to smoke and a small jar stashed in reserve

Ilgm gelato. But only this one out of 5. I grew it in a red tote and dropped the light on it and broke the stem+ burt little polka dots on some of the leaves and only got 4 ounces dry but it was some of the coolest I’ve ever grown and I’d love to have another like it just regular size lol

@Stoner4202 love the compilation of pics you got there. I definitely need to do something similar and start a folder for my grows.

I’ve definitely broken some branches by accident and bleached some tips :joy: she looks like it was a really fun grow

I seen this post and went to my old pictures and put a quick album together. That plant was from may 2024 but for the last 6 months or so i’ve been putting them all in their own albums because it helps me not forget what they was but that one was pretty memorable

Not big on floral tho

I would say a piney fruity smell. Great daytime smoke. Dont kill the mojo.

Skywalker OG has always made me think deeply and has always had peculiar taste.

Chocolope….I didn’t think I’d like a sativa so much. Pairs great with a cup of coffee

Hate to be cliche’, but I got some free Northern Lights Auto seeds with an order some time ago, and I grew one along with several other big name strains I had purchased. That NL turned out to be the best of the bunch. Surprised I was. It is great tasting smoke with a great buzz.

I’m sitting on some chocolope seeds myself atm. Maybe I’ll grow some out next run!

Surprise was Hash plant, White widow, and Black Orchid, the bummer was Highwayman it does not take outdoor here at all.

One of my Black widow plants had literally black buds, super strong though a little too much of a fuel taste for me, killer smoke.

@StevOz Wow that black widow was a looker!! A super strong fuel smell would be nice- haven’t encountered that in a long time here.

Well I can say the purple kush autos have taken me by surprise.

I’ve not yet gotten to smoke her but so far a very sweet fruity smell and she is super sticky.

Her sister is bushing out beautifully.

Not sure the order the pics are gonna load but they are both purple kush auto. Just results varied on the growoff of them. Some were super fast and small nugs and some are slower but building.

Definitely have to say the big one is ugly looking from a far but up close she is a looker

Blueberry Muffin. The smell and taste was strong with this one and was also the first Fru-Fru strain I grew. It still amazes me that they can manipulate this plant to smell and taste like something it isn’t. Hands down the best aroma and flavor profile I have grown to date.
