What should my water meter show for a good watering but so i cant over water
Not sure what you are talking about with water meter, here’s a guide on watering hope it’s what you are looking for
I im really bad for over watering so i got a moisture meter and was wondering at what number it should read
Are you talking about something like this one?
Best way to water is by the weight of the plant, they need to get pretty dry between waterings -if you are in soil. Coco shouldn’t be allowed to dry completely.
I water by weight, and use the moisture meter as a backup in case I’m on the fence. It needs to be into the “dry” zone.
Yes thats it
Im useing a mixture 50 50 of ff ocean soil and coco fibers
This was yesterday in just the soil . i have repotted her in a 50 50 soil/ coco mix will that help her?
Coco holds some water, but it should help make the soil “lighter”. PH might be a bit challenging though as one like 6.5 and one 5.8.
But making sure the soil is light enough for the roots to get plenty of air is good.
Can you show a pic of whole plant. Hope your giving cal mag using fox farms. What nutes are you going to use. Meter should be in the red 1 or 2 and then check wieght. This is an assumption but thats where mine is sometimes it even gets to 0. It will take a few tries to get use to it. If your in a situation where you can’t lift the back pots it’s a useful tool. Once you get use to what it reads when you water.
At first don’t rely on it. Rely on you then check with it and water. Do that 5 or 10 times and you will have it down.
I had a couple of those and it works pretty good, weed like to get almost dry between watering so I’d let the meter go down close to the dry mark then water until you get at least 10% runoff let almost dry and water again and so on. Overwatering doesn’t happen with the amount of water you use each time it happens when you water before they need it
Since you are using solid side pots you have to make sure there’s plenty of drainage in the bottom and around the sides at the bottom. I’ve never used coco but I’ve heard others say that if it dries out it can mess with your ph levels, but again I haven’t used it
They have holes all down the sides and bottom the ph is at 6.7
Do you think she will come out of this? Or should i drop another seed
They look healthy, when plants are that small you probably only want to water once a week and again make sure you water until you get a quart of water out of the bottom. This is important because you have to wash out the old food as you are watering in the new food.
It will come around as long as you don’t over water it takes a day or 2 for them to recover sometimes. If the soil in that pail is moist it probably won’t need water for a while. Small plants just don’t drink much.
Looking again at your pictures when was the last time you watered and how much did you give them?
The moisture meters are not good honestly.
Advice to learn the tell the weight of a dry pot with one with water is great. You will learn this easily and fast.
If you use Pro-mix HP and cloth pots, it is almost impossible to over water. Downside is you need proper nutrients. Most move up to a super soil or peat based like pro-mix or Fox Farms, (Not my fav. Many many new folks have trouble burning plants I noticed with Fox Farms).
I watered 3 days ago until i had run off about1 gallon and the soil just held it in
