How do I know if I’m overwatering?

I’m trying to understand overwatering a bit. Is overwatering giving it a certain amount of water every day?

I try to water when its pretty dry so every 3-4 days, if it’s still moist like 2 inches deep is it okay to water? And if I do, is it overwatering? I’ve recently went up from 1 liter to 1.7 liters to get some runoff. Is this good/bad?

Do u have pics of ur plant it sounds like ur doing ok if ur plant looks droopy then ur either overwatering ,but if u can post pics of ur plants then we can see

You shouldnt judge it by days. Judge it by weight. Dont water until you lift the pot and it feels feather light. Youll know it. Cuz its extreme vrs when the pot is moist.

This is an under watered cannabis plant. What you have isnt droopy.

Nah I’m not too worried about it. I just wanna know what it truly means to overwater. Is it just watering too often too much? Like if I give my plant a gallon and then don’t water it again for two weeks will it be okay? (Hypothetically)

Overwatering isnt a singular action. It is a consitancy. Water when soil isnt ready for more water multiple times

Depending upon size of container, lift/feel weight method works well, up to 5 gallon soil.
Lifting more for determing dry weight vs wet weight is too much work.
Age of plant, size of plant, container size, and grow conditions all factor into water demands of plant. Plant leaf droop is clear indication, but often “confused” with similar symptom of “tired leaf”- droop.
Learning takes time, good luck and enjoy.

Don’t forget to factor in the weight of the plant over time :joy: checked mine heavy as hell bone dry :grimacing:. But close to lights out so not watering them till tomorrow!

I’ll just have to practice the dry weight vs wet weight method :))

Absolutely not!!! Why would you think that? Bro…srsly…get a cheap ass soil probe and use it. When it shows dry water…youll learn what is ok and what isnt by that. Your gonna worry your plant to death.

You can also use the knuckle trick dig finger into soil 1-2 inches if dry water

Your plant can go full out wilty from not watering and bounce back 20 mins after you water it…

Y’all mind helping me out with another quick question? I just measured my runoff ppm and it was around 2000 ppm, I did give it some root thing from ilgm but is it supposed to be that high? I’m in FFOF. The ph was around 6.4, pretty good.

:joy::see_no_evil: this is where my veg girls are droopy like a mofo. But I have read watering before lights out can be a precursor for mold and well I don’t want that :joy: already battle high humidity at night
