Asking this question for a buddy, he sent me this pic the other day. Any ideas?
His humidity is 55-60% 76 degrees F, lights 24 hours a day exhaust fans, inline fans.
Im no expert here but my first guess would be spider mites. Have a close look under the leaves with a jeweler’s loupe or magnifying glass.
Best defense to prevent pests imho is oscillating fans to keep the leaves moving.
There are many recommendations for battling pests if you search the forum. Typically dependant on stage of growth as well.
Need more info and a full plant pic Growmie, medium used, run off PH and PPMs and feeding frequency and nutrients used
Agree with @OGIncognito need more info help us help you my friend happy growing
@Metalheadfred spider mites damage leaves little white dots what ever the issue is in the spots on leaves are rusty looking pointing to deficiency
Just in case it is mites tell your buddy to look under the leaves with a scope. Some of the spots are white yet others have a rusty look so maybe 2 issues here?
I’ll call him up and get some more info, thanks guys
This is copy and pasted from him, thanks guys
But nutes advanced nutes sense coco line as the base nutes @ 16ml per gallon for both parts A and B for the veg and bloom nutes with sense cal on top to boost cal mag levels @6ml per gallon for corrections and 4 upon normal feeds and voodoo juice early on for the first 2 weeks of plants life @8ml to help root growth then come flower just some big bud coco @8ml per gallon on top of the base nutes with extra cal mag I did get some bud candy but haven’t gave it to the plants yet.
The soil is Bio 365 coco in auto pot XLs with 6 gal plastics and a slight amount of perlite mixed into the bottom
Here is some more pics of the plant! I did check for pests on the sun leaves top and bottom and checked the soil and couldn’t find any critters and I’ve came to the conclusion its not pest related but maybe a fungal issue of some kind but still stumped on exactly what it is or could be causing it so if ya got any input let er eat im all ears!

What was the last run off PH and PPMs Growmie? I’m pretty sure the spots are not a calcium deficiency as this typically shows up on newer growth and upwards on the plant nearest the light or on the outside edges of lower older growth shaded by the upper growth. A small amount of leaf tip burn but I look for that and is acceptable as in its showing the nutrient threshold has been hit. Does appear to be a magnesium deficiency and can be corrected by adding a teaspoon of unscented Epsom salts to your nutrient mix. Curious on the run off PH as most deficiencies are PH related.
well it is a auto put system so the pots are constantly holding water as its a form of hydroponics and in the pots themselves the ph is 6.1 the same as the res and i noticed when the auto pot refills the ppm matches the res around 1223-1227ppm like the res shows but after a few hours of the nutes sitting in the pot the ppm drops from absorption (i think)and the current the ppm is down to 1087 in that pot and it has drank roughly a 1/4 of that fill if that makes sense kinda hard to explain and I’ve checked the pots them selves for algae etc as well and the nutrient solution looks the same as in the res no weird chunks or contaminates but i don’t top feed so a true run off i cant fully give but if i would assume the run off and soil ph would match that of the solution it sits in no !? hopefully i answered that right cuz this system is new to me so it made my pea brain work hard to try to answer that lmao!
Top 3 pics looks to me as you have hit max feed, just back down a 100 PPM each feed, and they wil not have painted nails, but that said I just give the same if they dont totaly fry the tips.
Gotcha on the autopots and I’m a user as well. I would drop those PPMs down around 850-1000, the PH is perfect. I rarely feed over 850 PPMs with excellent results, it’s much easier to correct a deficiency than toxicity
Thank you for the input I appreciate it I’ll try bumping it down to around 1000ppm but do you think that’s what is causing the spotting on the sun leaves or is there another culprit at play here?
Could be burn spots from condensation between the leaves when they rest on each other in above normal humidity levels, could be water droplet burns from top feeding, a calcium deficiency but not leaning towards this one. Wouldn’t hurt to look around for pest. Keep an eye on all the upper growth and if the base nutrients don’t have calcium and magnesium you’ll need to supplement these 2 vital secondary nutrients
Thanks for the input I’m starting to lean towards the base nutes aren’t carrying enough calcium and magnesium that the plant wants/needs at this stage of its life I’ve sat in the tent for a good while searching every inch of the plants and couldn’t find no bugs of any kind on either plant both on top and the under sides of the leaves and I’m also starting to think it isn’t rust fungus either cuz the spots don’t show orange on the bottom side of the leaf just a lighter green spot almost yellow that looks like it would eventually turn fully yellow or to necrosis but thanks again for the help still trying to figure out these autos and this auto pot system!
