What is the best Nutrient Foliar Spray to use when a deficiency is suspected?
I donāt spray anything unless pesrs show up. What is wrong? Do u have pics?
You are referring to a pest control spray, but there are also nutrient sprays designed to give the plants an immediate injection of nutrients since the process of nutrient uptake through the root system takes longer. I was wondering what some people suggest as a good brand or product for this application.
Maybe some seaweed extract, or Epsom salt for magnesium deficiency. I wouldnāt spay anything if your in flower, youāll contaminate your buds. Spray at lights out to avoid leaf burn. Personally I donāt foliar feed so Iāll leave it at that
So lots of nutrients can be used for foliage feeding and you are correct, it is the fastest way to get them what they need and even a completely locked out plant can take up nutrients just fine from its leafsā¦
I have honestly never corrected a deficiency this way but Iāve never had one bad enough i felt i needed to correct asapā¦
Whatever nutrients you happen to have on hand, just Google ācan it be used as foliage sprayā if you have any liquid nutes, im betting thereās a formula online for a sprayā¦
Hey, thank you that makes sense, but Iāll refrain from using non-organics such as fox farm, thank you for your insight.
Thanks, I may try the seaweed or kelp spray that sounds like a good way to go!
I use Nirvana and fish and kelp Foliar if I canāt fix it any other way. Be careful though use a fine mist sprayer and donāt spray the colas just the leaves. I do it at lights on and only if necessary.
Really depends on the deficiency. The only time Iāve had to foliar feed was when I had a severe iron deficiency. A Calmag foliar feed knocked it out within a few days. Obviously this wouldnāt have worked if it were a severe phosphorus or potassium deficiency.
Sounds like good advice. Thank be only been in flower for about three days, and I should have waited until my plants were recovered ( I went on vacation for a week) came back and they are a bit stressed but I was in veg for like 9 weeks and my schedule wonāt allow me to wait any longer. I think Iāll use some kelp and hope for best. Thanks!
Agreed. Not exactly sure either
1/4 strength in a quart sprayer and if you got anything real close to a light, move it before you spray it and let it dry before you put it back. You can always spray more so donāt overdo it and burn them. Fish and kelp is gentle so is a spray of compost tea. Either one works great.
The biggest thing in my arsenal though is a product by AN called Nirvana. That stuff is the cure all for anything.
Thank you, Iāll check out the Nirvana
Thanks thatās a pretty good place to get recommendation iāde imagine.
I was looking for a foliar supplement that also helped ward off āleaf hoppersā which showed up on my outdoor grow and gave one of my ladies a virus that looked identical to what they do to tomato plants. But to be honest I threw so much at those plants itās hard for me with my limited experience to differentiate which things had the best effects.
Well, They look healthy! lol
Yeah the leaf hoppers had no affect on the plant from that last pic but this one suffered horrible āleaf curlā. The silver lining of this pic is that this plant ended up being male and got yanked anyways lol. But it had me sweating the possibility of a recurrence on another.
interesting
Them things look braided
I was like, thats a cool ass trick, but why would anyone do that
Then I actually read and of course they are just curled up
